    Mrs. Jeanette Adams Stanley, 77, 341 S. State Street, Sullivan died at 6:35 am today in Mary Sherman Hospital after an extended illness.
    She was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Sullivan.
    Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Evaline Wright of Sullivan, Mrs. Veneda Able of Terre Haute, Mrs. Mary Bex of Troy, Mich., and Mrs. Nora Johnston of Shelburn; two sons Garland Adams of Griffith, Ind.,, and Otis Adams of Muncie, Ind.; two brothers; Walter Whitman, R2 Sullivan and Ralph Whitman of Battle Creek, Mich.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
    Arrangements are pending at the Alexander Funeral Home.

    SULLIVAN — Evaline Agness Wright, 91, of Sullivan died at 2:15 p.m. Sunday, June 11, 2006, in Miller's Merry Manor. She was a homemaker. She was born Sept. 14, 1914, in Fairbanks to Jesse Adams and Jeannette Whitman Adams. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Henry "Hank" Wright, whom she married Dec. 24, 1932.
    Survivors include one son, Melvin "Buck" Wright and his wife Janice of Paxton; one daughter, Clara Vowell of Fairbanks; one sister, Mary Bex of Beaverton, Mich., six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives. She also was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Norma Johnston and Veneda Abel; and three brothers, Walter Adams, Garland Adams and Otis Adams.
    She was a 1932 graduate of Graysville High School, and a member of Paxton Church of God.
    Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday in Holmes Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. David Cox officiating. Burial is in Center Ridge Cemetery. Visitation is 11 a.m. until services Wednesday

    SULLIVAN - Otis E. Adams of Muncie and formerly of Sullivan died Saturday in Ball Memorial Hospital at Muncie. He was a retired packer for Marhoefer Meat Packing Co., and had worked for Muncie Street Department. He was born May 27, 1924, in Sulliivan to Jesse Adams and Jeannette Whitman Adams. Survivors include his wife Jean Adams; one son Brian of Laurel, Mont.; four sisters Evaline Wright of Sullivan, Norma Johnston of Shelburn, Mary Bex of Beaverton, Mich., and Veneda Abel of Farmersburg' six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Peoples Sympathy Club and attended North Side Assembly of God at Muncie. Services are 10 a.m. today in Parson Mortuary Adams Chapel at Muncie, with the Rev. Wes Larson officiating. Burial is in Garden of Memory, north of Muncie. Visitation is one hour before services.

    Mary Asena Bex, 81, of Crawfordsville passed away at 2:35 p.m. Friday, May 28, 2010 in Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born October 11, 1928 in Sullivan to Jesse Adams and Jeanette Whitman Adams. She was a retired beautician, a homemaker and a member of the Lighthouse Family Worship Center. She was preceded in death by her husband Russell "Blackie" Bex, her parents, one son Duane McClure, three brothers Walter, Garland and Otis Adams and three sisters Norma Johnston, Veneda Abel and Evaline Wright.
    Survivors include a daughter-in-law Martha McClure, Crawfordsville, two grandchildren Nicole Boyll and Brooke Caton, eleven great grandchildren, three great, great grandchildren and other relatives. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Holmes Memorial Chapel in Sullivan with Rev. Dan Tyler officiating. Burial will be in the Merom Cemetery. Visitation is 1:00 p.m. until time of services Wednesday.

    Shelburne - Veneda Evalee Abel 65 of 336 Mill St. died at 5.20 a.m. Sunday November 17, 1996 in Columbia Terre Haude Regional Hospital. She was a homemaker. She was born Nov. 19, 1930 in Sullivan County to Jesse Otis Adams and Jeanette May Whitman Adams. Survivors include two sons, Paul Abel of Shelburne and Greg Abel of Sullivan, two sister, Evaline Wright of Sullivan and Mary Bex of Michigan; five grand children, and several other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Garland Adams, Otis Adams and Walter Adams; and one sister , Norma Johnston. She was a member of Shelburne Church of God. Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday in Holmes Memorial Chapel in Sullivan, with the Rev. Russell Black officiating. Burial is in Benson Chapel Cemetery, near Shelburne. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and before services Wednesday. The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shelburne Church of God or the American Cancer Society.
