  1. 1901 Census - 57 Dane Road, Margate, Kent
  2. 1891 Census - Brooklyn House, Victoria Road, Margate, Kent
  3. 1881 Census -1 Milton Road, Margate St John Baptist, Kent - The family were: John AMOS, a Builder, aged 41 born Dover, Kent, his wife, Maria AMOS possibly née NIGHTINGALE, aged 40 born Dover, Kent and children Charles E AMOS, aged 18 a Bricklayers Apprentice, born Dover, Kent, Susannah E AMOS, age 16 a Dressmakers Apprentice, born Dover, Kent, Charlotte M AMOS, aged 15 also a Dressmakers Apprentice, born Dover, Kent, John R AMOS, aged 12, a Scholar, born Dover, Kent, James R AMOS, aged 10 a Scholar, born Margate, Kent, Alfred A AMOS, aged 5 a Scholar, born Margate, Kent, Frances A AMOS aged 3 born Margate, Kent, George AMOS aged 1 born Margate, Kent, also in the household was a John NIGHTINGALE? aged 38 brother-in-law, a Builder's Clerk, born Dover, Kent. Although some way from our family will add a Chart for this family at some time in the future.
  4. 1871 Census - 1 Byron Road, Margate, Kent
  5. 1901 Census - 6 Cairn Brea Terrace, Margate, Kent. There were two boarders with them, one of them was a William CAMPBELL, which was the maiden name of James Richard's wife. He was 26 and born in Margate, Kent.
  6. 1901 Census - 9 Cairn Brea Terrace, Margate, Kent. I am sure this is the brother of James who I have found at 6 Cairn Brea Terrace on Note 5. I cannot find his marriage, which I could have been in Oxfordshire as that is where his wife's birthplace is. They have two children which I will name, the second one, a son has the second Christian name as BAYMAN which could have been his mother's maiden name. The children were Edith Marjorie AMOS, age 6 born Margate, Kent and Rupert Bayman AMOS, age 3 born Margate, Kent. I will add a Chart for this family in the future.
  7. 1901 Census - George AMOS was a Carpenter and boarding at St John's Place, Margate, Kent.
  8. 1901 Census - John, Maria and daughter Frances were living at Northdown Villa, Northdown, Margate, Kent. They had a servant, a Jane BAILEY, aged 14
  9. 1901 Census - 44 Parson Road, Norwood, Lambeth, Surrey. I have found Susannah and Charlotte at this address on this Census, Susannah is down as Head and there are three other people with her all down as sisters. Charlotte we knew about, Ellen which I have added is new and possibly on the 1891 Census which I have not looked at yet and a Florence E PARONI which I cannot believe is a sister. She is down as such but is 25 a shorthand typist born in Marylebone, Middlesex. This does not tie up with any other information. She is down as single, so would not have that surname if she was an AMOS.
  10. 1851 Census - Colbran Street, Charlton, St James, Dover, Kent.  John was a Scholar, aged 11 born Hougham, Kent. He was with his father, a Richard AMOS, aged 32 a Labourer born East Langdon, Kent and his mother Elizabeth, aged 30, born Hougham, Kent
  11. 1861 Census - 5 Brook Street, Charlton, St James, Dover, Kent. John was a Bricklayer aged 21 born Dover, Kent, His father Richard was 41 a Carter, born east Langdon, Kent and his wife Elizabeth was 40 a Carter's wife, born Hougham, Kent. They had had a daughter since the 1851 Census, a Frances AMOS, aged 6 a Scholar, born Dover, Kent

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
