  1. 1871 Census - Prince of Wales Inn, Shere, Surrey.
  2. 1891 Census - Victoria Road, Dorking Surrey
  3. 1901 Census - Victoria Road, Dorking Surrey.
  4. 1861 Census - Shere Street, Shere, Surrey. John BATCOCK was still at home, his father was Richard aged 52 a Seedsman Carter born Shere Surrey, his mother Helen aged 45 Seedsman wife born Godalming, Surrey and John had three siblings on this Census.
  5. 1871 Census - The Village, Shere, Surrey
  6. 1881 Census - Shere Village, Shere, Surrey.  With Helen is her daughter Kate (so I assume it is Susan Kate on this Chart as that ties up with the age and a Granddaughter, Ellen E, aged 12 a Scholar born Ripley, Surrey. Thee is a Richard BATCOCK who appears on the search in the 1881 Census, aged 17 but I cannot find him on the actual page that comes up or those going back two of forward two.
  7. 1851 Census - Shere, Surrey
  8. 1841 Census - Shere, Surrey
  9. IGI Baptism
  10. IGI information only.
  11. 1861 Census - Shere Street, Shere, Surrey
  12. IGI Baptism, George and Emma had a child Richard baptised 11th December 1863 Shere, Surrey and an Annie Mary baptised 25th August 1861 Shere, Surrey and a George William baptised 31st July 1859 Shere, Surrey (but not on 1861 Census)
  13. 1881 Census - Devonshire Road, Croydon, Surrey. Children Annie 10 born Ripley, Surrey, Alfred 9 born Guildford, Surrey and Lydia 7 born Guildford, Surrey
  14. IGI Baptism there was a baptism for an Eliza Ellen BATCOCK with parents Alfred and Eliza on 25th August 1872 Shere, Surrey,
  15. 1861 Census - 25 Green Hill, Greenwich, Kent. Alfred is down as a Page, at this address born Shere, Surrey, he is only 12, I think therefore that the marriage in London for Alfred to Eliza is correct, but I am not so certain that the family on the 1881 Census is the right one. I think the Baptism on the IGI is, so this throws a doubt as she does not appear on the 1881 Census and the other children are down as being born in Guildford and RiIpley and Alfred is down as being born in Guildford (I thought as he was in Croydon on this Census he might have put Guildford down as somewhere that people knew rather than Shere - but as I say I now have my doubts.) Again Eliza Ellen is the only baptism in Shere with Alfred and Eliza as parents.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
