Notes The marriage of Alexander to Maria. This marriage took place on 11th October 1896 at St Peter Walworth. This Alexander married a Maria YOUNG and his father is down as David BERESFORD (deceased) a Boot Closer, so all looks fine to that point but Alexander has put himself down as being 30 years of aged so born in 1861 from Censuses he appears to have been born in 1853, (18 on 1871 Census), however his wife is down as only being 27 so perhaps he felt he should give an age nearer to hers. On the 1901 Census he is aged 40 so born 1861 but he is down as being born at St Martin which is correct and on the 1911 Census he is down as being 48 and born in Berry Bedford which although not making much sense in 1851 at Bedford Bury, Saint Martin in the Fields and in 1871 at 9 Bedfordbury, St Martin in the Fields. So from all this I do think although he is given his ages incorrectly this is out Alexander. There was one record officially closed after Ada. Took me a long time to sort children out on this chart for some reason on the 1911 Census they have named the children the wrong way round so Ada was Esther and Esther was Ada. Only some London Electoral Roll added really to show after marriage that Esther Maria after marriage was known as Hester.
