I therefore went for this one. It appears that this Winifred Ellen had been married before to A Harry Edward CLAMP married 26th December 1916 at All Saints, Carshalton, Surrey he was 22 a Bachelor and a Private 25th C.A.S. and living at 6 North Street, Carshalton, Surrey with father Charles Alfred CLAMP a Plumber. witnesses were C. A. CLAMP junior and C. A. CLAMP senior. Details for Winifred Ellen were as follows she was 21 and living at Betchworth Street, Betchworth, Surrey with Father Edward John LUCAS a Labourer. Then the problems, Harry Edward CLAMP did not die and it appears he married again. He is on various Electoral Rolls until 1939. As can be seen I can find no marriage of Samuel BOXALL and Winifred Ellen LUCAS/CLAMP, I rather think that I do have the right details and that Winifred left Harry Edward CLAMP and had a child with Samuel BOXALL but they did not marry. The child was born in 1921 but the first time I find Samuel and Winifred Ellen on the Electoral Roll is in 1931. I will put the details in this note on the chart above. Now certain I have it correct as the son born in 1921 is also registered as Horace R CLAMP, same quarter same district in both cases mothers maiden name as LUCAS.
