  1. 1841 Census - Hambledon Village, Surrey
IGI Marriage. Extracted from actual record
  2. IGI Marriage. Extracted from actual record
  3. 1841 Census - Hambledon Village, Surrey
IGI Marriage. Extracted from actual record
  4. 1841 Census - Hambledon Village, Surrey
1851 Census - Village, Hambledon,  Surrey. James is head of Household as a Widower, with his children Emily and Arthur, but Maria NASH is with him as a Housekeeper but she is down as sister-in-law and her children are down as nephews and nieces.
1861 Census - Bufs Common, Hambledon, Surrey. This shows that James married again to a Maria Nash, Arthur is with James and his wife but also the following which will need some sorting out - Sarah NASH aged 21, she is down as being 21 and unmarried and as daughter-in-law born Whitley, Surrey, so assume she is a daughter of Maria and her first husband ??? NASH, but then she appears to have a son a Henry Charles NASH aged 1 born Hambledon down as son of daughter-in-law, but as she has the name NASH and is unmarried I assume he was her illegitimate child. Then there  are two Grandchildren, Elizabeth BOXALL aged 4 born Godalming, Surrey, but I have no son other than Arthur on the above chart so possibly a child of either Jane or Emily and then a Maria NASH aged 4 born Godalming, Surrey, so assume a child of another of Maria ??? and her husband ??? NASH.
On Andy Brown's Family Tree on Ancestry.com the parents of William are shown as William born about 1783 Hascombe, Surrey died 13th September 1847 Hambledon, Surrey and Jane AYLING born about 1789 Godalming, Surrey and died about 1830 Hambledon, Surrey. Other than William it shows seven other children
1871 Census - Alms House, Hambledon, Surrey
1881 Census -  By the common, Hambledon, Surrey. With his daughter Emily HUTCHINS and family.
  5.
  6. 1841 Census - Sandhills, Hambledon, Surrey. William's wife Mary is shown as being 20 on this Census, but she could be older as ages were rounded up or down on this Census. William is down as being 25, John is correct at 6, so if Mary was 20 she would have only been 14 when she had John. The was a John EARL aged 70 and a Thomas EARL aged 20 with the family. The IGI shows a marriage on 9th November 1834 of a Mary EARL to a William BOXALL, so I think this is the correct marriage and that John EARL was her father and Thomas a brother.
1861 Census - Sandhole, Hambledon, Surrey
1871 Census - Sandhole, Hambledon, Surrey
1881 Census - Sandhole, Hambledon Village, Surrey. Hannah is down as Anne on this Census.
1891 Census - Village Hambledon, Surrey
  7. 1841 Census - Hambledon Village, Surrey. Children Mariah, 4 born Surrey and John 1 born Surrey
1851 Census - Higher Down Heath, Godalming, Surrey. - Children Marie 13 Hascombe, John 11 Hascombe, George 9 ?, Harriett 6 Hascombe, Eli (Jesse) 3 Godalming, Sarah 3 Godalming. (This does not quite match details on Andy BROWN's Website for this family.
IGI Marriage details - submitted by a member of the LDS Church
  8. 1841 Census - Thorncombe Street, Bramley, Surrey. Children - Charlotte 4 and Mary (Jane) 2 both born Surrey
1851 Census - Shalford, Surrey. With a family called KNIGHT. Her daughter Mary Jane aged 12 was with her. Birth place for both put down as Shalford, Surrey, but I think that the Head J KNIGHT has given the details and put down Shalford for everyone.
1861 Census - I thought that Charlotte NYE might have married again between 1851 and 1861 so I searched for Charlotte NYE in this period and one comes up, but I am certain that this is the Charlotte (her daughter) who appears on the 1841 Census - The interesting thing about it is that she married a Charles DENYER. The DENYER is the surname of the person Charlotte's younger sister Jane married so possibly a connection. There were two children Alfred 2 and John 1. This will show when I put the NYE Chart on. (Forgot to take address - again will look again when I put the Chart on)
Continuing there is a marriage for a Charlotte NYE in June quarter of 1851 and with further research I am sure she married a George WOOLGAR, (there are 8 names listed, so 4 males), but on the 1861 Census there is a Charlotte WOOLGAR, born 1817 in Hascombe, Surrey. Unfortunately she is a widow, and I think if I am correct all the children except the last one must be from a previous marriage of George, as all born before 1851. There are four of them. The one that I think is the daughter of George and Charlotte is Fanny, she was 7 and born in Dunsfold and was a scholar. They were living at Village, Bramley, Surrey/ This is getting a bit complex to put on this Chart, so will continue with later Censuses when I put the chart on the Web.
  9. 1841 Census - Hambledon Common, Hambledon, Surrey. There was a George DENYER aged 73 with the family on this Census.
  10. 1841 Census - Hambledon Village, Surrey
1851 Census - Wheeler Street, Witley, Surrey. Charles with his son George were visitors with a George and Ann DUKE. I have since found that Ann DUKE maiden name was AVENALL so Charles and son were staying with the sister of his late wife on this Census. Ann had married George in the March quarter of 1846 and is on the same page as Henry BOXALL and Ann UNDERWOOD.
1861 Census - Cross Ways, Witley, Surrey
1871 Census - Crossways, Witley, Surrey.
1881 Census - Cross Ways, Witley, Surrey.
1891 Census - Crossways, Witley, Surrey.
1901 Census - District Union Workhouse, Hambledon, Surrey
    Original Information for Andy BROWN
  11. 1841 Census - Hambledon Village, Surrey
1851 Census - Hambledon Road, Hambledon, Surrey. There were two lodgers with the family. One of the lodgers was a David BOXALL, aged 14 an Ag Labourer, he was a brother of Henry.
1861 Census - Near the Union, Hambledon, Surrey
1871 Census - Hambledon Road, Hambledon, Surrey. There was also Mary BOXALL, aged 75 a widow, mother to Head of Family, born Wonersh, Surrey with the family.
1881 Census - Sandhills, Witley, Surrey.  There were also two boarders with the family.
1891 census - Sandhills, Witley, Surrey. (no children with them)
Original information from an Andy Brown
  12. IGI Baptism. Extracted from actual records. This gives us another child, but it is after the marriage of William and Mary and comes up with these parents in Hambledon, so I think it is one of theirs.
  13. 1841 Census - Hambledon Village, Surrey
1851 Census - Hambledon Road, Hambledon, Surrey. David was with his brother Henry on this Census.
IGI Baptism. Extracted from actual record
  14. IGI Baptism. Extracted from actual record

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
