I believe that somewhere in the PIPER family there is a connection to the PIPER aircraft company. This short line found on the Evans Historical Society site leads you to believe that is so ".... and Jennings PIPER, father of William PIPER, who founded the Piper aircraft company. ...." As this is where Jennings PIPER was I believe that a child of one of this Jennings sons must have named his son Jennings and that is the person we are looking for. It was not this Jennings from Sussex and not his son Jennings as it appears he died in 1876. So this is the only possibility.

Three children on this Census, plus a brother, Charles who is the correct age, and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lewis and Mary MALTBY, (as Lewis is only 20 and Mary 16, I think these are a brother and sister of Thomas's wife Sarah and therefore this gives us her maiden name,  there was also a lodger
1900 Evans Township (Northern Part), Erie, New York ?
I have found an Arthur Lewis PIPER who I believe was a son of Thomas and Sarah, he became a missionary in the Belgian Congo and there is a fair amount of information to be found about him.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
