1861 Census - High Road, Tottenham, Middlesex. There was a Catherine BACON, a widow a Lodger aged 58 a Nurse Woman born  Tottenham, Middlesex with the family
1871 Census - Tottenham, Middlesex. (no addresses on page of Census) - two Shoemaker Apprentices on this Census
1881 Census - Wycliffe House, Philip Lane, Tottenham, Middlesex. There was an Annie LEONARD a spinster aged 60 a Lodger a Needle woman born City, Middlesex with the family.
1891 Census - The Green, Tottenham, Middlesex. With the family was an Agnes Emily CAREY a Granddaughter aged 3 born Tottenham, Middlesex. Do not know who she belongs to, could be another child for James and with her Grandparents on this Census or one of the females could have had a child before marriage. Have also found Walter still single on this Census.. Also with the family was Charles C JACKSON aged 15 an Apprentice born St Mary's Strand, London
1901 Census - 2 Philip Lane off High Street, Tottenham, Middlesex. With the family was a Joseph COLMAN a servant aged 16 a Bootmaker born London

1851 Census - Scotland Green, Tottenham, Middlesex.
1871 Census - No 1 Church Row, Hackney London, Middlesex. (found this because of the Grandson with his Grandparents on the 1881 Census). Children on this Census were: Charles James LOXTON, aged 3 born Hackney, Middlesex and Harry aged 4 months also born Hackney, Middlesex
1881 Census - 28 Victoria Road, South Hornsey, Middlesex. Mary has remarried on this Census, this solves a lot of the problems I was having with this family.
1891 Census - 25 Victoria Road, South Hornsey, Middlesex.
1901 Census - At the present time I cannot find the family on the 1901 Census, Mary Ann, Harry or Rosay.
I do not think that Mary Ann LOXTON née CAREY actually married Harry VAUGHAN but they lived as man and wife, so the death I have found in 1905 is for a Mary Ann LOXTON not VAUGHAN so I think this is her death details. There is also a Mary Ann VAUGHAN death in the same quarter and the same place with the same age, so I think the death was registered in both of her names.
On the IGI there is there is a baptism as shown, I was trying to find James LOXTON on a Census other than the 1871 one. If this is correct his parents were a James and an Ann LOXTON, details extracted from actual records. Again I was hoping that other children would show up using the batch number but he is the only one. However with the information of the baptism and searching for James LOXTON born Wells, Somersetshire with and James and an Ann* as a mother I have had success with the 1851 Census.
  6. 1851 Census - Scotland Green, Tottenham, Middlesex.
1861 Census - Scot Green, Tottenham, Middlesex.
Cannot find after 1861 Census at present
  7. 1851 Census - Scotland Green, Tottenham, Middlesex.
1861 Census - Scot Green, Tottenham, Middlesex.
1871 Census - 32 Scotland Green, Tottenham, Middlesex.
1881 Census - 81 Commercial St Metropolitan Free Hospital, Spitalfields, Whitechapel, London, Middlesex
1891 Census - 206 High Street, Watford, Hertfordshire. Child on this Census - Jessie Louisa CAREY aged 3 born Watford, Hertfordshire
1901 Census - 38 St Andrews Street, Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire. (Ancestry.com has the family indexed at CARRY on the Census) The family and people with him other than his wife were:  Maud 17 daughter, born Bushey, Hertfordshire, John H 14 son born Bushey, Hertfordshire (where were these two children on the 1891 Census) then there was Jessie aged 13 daughter, born Watford, Hertfordshire (she was on the 1891 Census) then Ethel M aged 7 daughter born Watford, Hertfordshire. Then there are twenty lodgers, 16 men and 4 woman, details of names and ages given but no occupations or birthplace
I had difficulty finding the marriage of John to Henrietta Louisa, so I worked the other way, I looked for a birth of a Henrietta Louisa in Epsom district in 1847 and there was only one, a Henrietta Louisa BENNETT, I then found the 1851 and 1861 Census, details below, and then search for a marriage between ten years either side of 1876 for a Henrietta Louisa BENNETT and found they married in Marylebone, so success.
Details for Henrietta Louise BENNETT before marriage
1851 Census - Kingston Road, Ewell, Surrey - Thomas BENNETT (father) head, Aged 38 a Baker Master born unknown, Sussex, Henrietta (mother) 38 born Epsom, Surrey, Ann 10 Scholar, born Ewell, Surrey, James 8 Scholar, born Ewell, Surrey, Harry 6 Scholar born Ewell, Surrey, Mark 5 born Ewell, Surrey, Henrietta 2 born Ewell, Surrey, there was also a Servant with the family,
1861 Census - Kingston Road, Ewell, Surrey - Thomas BENNETT (father) head Age 48 a Baker aged 48 born Crawley, Surrey. His wife had died before this Census. Children - Arnold 16 a Baker born Ewell, Surrey, Frank 14 a Baker born Ewell, Surrey, Henrietta 12 a Scholar, born Ewell, Surrey, Jessie 9 a Scholar, born Ewell, Surrey, Fanny 8 Scholar born Ewell, Surrey, The mother of Thomas BENNETT was with the family, she was Hannah a widow aged 86 possibly born York.
  8. 1851 Census - Scotland Green, Tottenham, Middlesex.
1861 Census - Scot Green, Tottenham, Middlesex.
After a lot of thought, I think that George married a Susannah, will try and find out more. he appears on all the Censuses after 1861 so four in total but the age he gives varies between 1841 and 1851 but on the 1901 Census he is down as born in 1846, so I do think it is the correct person. Wil sort out further when I put a chart on for him at which time these notes will be amended. He has the same wife throughout with various spelling for her birth place Snettisham, Norfolk but it is always in Norfolk and the town always begins with an S and can be recognised as Snetisham.
IGI - Birth date submitted by a member of the LDS Church
  9. 1851 Census - Scotland Green, Tottenham, Middlesex.
1861 Census - Scot Green, Tottenham, Middlesex.
1871 Census - 32 Scotland Green, Tottenham, Middlesex.
1881 Census - Alpha Cottage, Crown Lane, Edmonton, Middlesex. Anthony is married they have a child Mary Isabella CAREY aged 10 months born Southgate, Middlesex, but there is a Louisa CAREY with them, down as sister, born Ewell, Surrey. I think this is Henrietta Louisa who married John CAREY above and it was in fact Anthony's sister-in-law, as it ties in with what I have found on the 1891 Census. I think she was with the family as John was in Hospital in London at this time. It therefore confirms that the information for John is correct. Also under Louisa is a John CAREY, down as nephew so child of John and Louisa, not Anthony, he is 2 months old and born in Tottenham, Middlesex.
1891 Census - Alpha Cottage, Crown Lane, Southgate, Edmonton, Middlesex. Three children, Mary I 10 a Scholar born Southgate, Middlesex, Lilian E 7 a Scholar born Southgate, Middlesex and a Ellen C aged 5 also born Southgate, Middlesex. There was a Boarder a Daniel E BUTCHERS aged 32 an Insurance Clerk born Sedlescombe, Sussex (suggests that it is a brother of Mary)
1901 Census - Crown Lane, Southgate, Edmonton, Middlesex. With Anthony and Mary was their daughter Ellen C, aged 15 a Pupil Teacher born Southgate, Middlesex, and Daniel E BUTCHERS this time down as Brother-in-Law aged 42 an Insurance Clerk born Sedlescombe, Sussex
  10. 1861 Census - Scot Green, Tottenham, Middlesex.
Cannot find after 1861 Census at present.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
