Obituary of Louis Joyce TINGEY née CARTER Lois Joyce Carter Tingey BORN: April 10, 1931 DIED: November 21, 2010 LOCATION: Lake Shore, Utah Lois Joyce Carter Tingey, our loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2010. Lois suffered a stroke in May of 2009, and was lovingly cared for at home by her husband, Grant. She was born April 10, 1931 in Provo, Utah to Leland Conlin and Agnes Evans Carter. Lois graduated from Provo High School and attended BYU. She married her eternal sweetheart, Grant Cook Tingey on February 14, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple and they are the parents of three children. She dedicated her life to her family and found much joy in serving them and making them happy. She enjoyed many family activities and loved to be with her grandchildren who affectingly referred to her as Nana. Lois supported and worked beside her husband for 45 years in the family business, the Spanish Fork Livestock Auction. She was the heart and soul in the auction office making everyone who met her a friend for life. She volunteered for the American Red Cross and was a member of the Spanish Fork Cowbells Association. She was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints serving in many positions including Primary, Young Women’s and Relief Society. She is survived by her husband, Grant, a daughter Sue (Seth) Winterton; son, Ty Carter Tingey; her brother, Keith Carter; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Karen Tingey, and a brother Ken Carter. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lake Shore Chapel, 5916 South 3200 West Lake Shore, Utah. Family and friends may call on the family Friday evening, November 26, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at the Spanish Fork West State Center, 360 North 650 West, or Saturday morning at the Lake Shore Church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Benjamin City Cemetery, 7400 South 3200 West.
