Carter was born Sept. 13, 1903 in McGrath, Alberta, Canada. He had operated used car dealerships for 40 years in Burbank and Oroville. He also had a Bardohl franchise before his retirement. Oroville had been his residence since 1949. His wife, Mary Ann, died in 1990. Survivors included a daughter, Peggy Pfingsten of Eureka; a son, James of Hollywood; and five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Burial will be in Valhalla Memorial Park in Burbank. Memorial contributions may be made to Butte Home Health Hospice, 164 E.
