    Mr. WILLIAM MARCUS CATHCART and MISS LEONARA ELSIE DOWDESWELL, daughter of B. F. Dowdeswell, Esq., of Tooting Bec, were made man and wife at the Parish Church, Streatham on Thursday. The Rev. Canon Nicholls officiated, and over 300 persons were present at the ceremony. Mr. Charles Rock was Mr. Cathcart's best man. A reception at the house of the bride's father followed, when over 120 guests assembled. The happy couple were the recipients of nearly 100 presents, amongst the conspicuous being a large solid sibler bowl from Mr. John Hare, a silver salver from the members of Mr. Hare's company, a smoker's cabinet from Miss Kate Rorke, two water-colours from Mr. Charles Groves, a signed picture from Mr Harford the well-known scenic artist, and a piano from the bride's parents. Many well-known members of the theatrical profession attended:- Mr. and Mrs Charles Groves, Mrs Gilbert Hare, Mr. Fred Thorne, Mr. Bertie Cathcart, and Mr. Frank Mayeur. the bridegroom is leaving Mr. Hare's company after twelve years; association with it, his father, the late Mr. Rowley Cathcart, so well know to the profession, having been for many years associated with Mr. Hare; indeed, their joint connection with the same management extended over a period of thirty years. Mr. William Cathcart will, on the termination of the honeymoon, which is being spent at Boulogne, take up an important position with the firm of Messrs Pratt and Co., the well-known racing officials, in which his brother, Mr. Fred Cathcart, is a partner.
    1898 There is a baptism on 10th December 1898 at St Leonard, Streatham of  a Frederick Rolleston CATHCART with William Marcus and Elsie Leonora as parents - on the 1911 Census he was at 33 Dalby Square Margate, Kent as a Boarder, School.
    1901 155 Bedford Hill, Streatham, Surrey. Son Frederick R aged 2 born Tooting, Surrey and a servant. He died in 1934 in Edmonton district, Middlesex
    1906 There is a baptism on 11th November 1906 at Holy Trinity, Upper Tooting, Surrey of a Geoffrey Herbert CATHCART with William Marcus and Leonora Elsie as parents. On his death information on BMD he was born on 14th August 1906 and he died April 1991 in Wandsworth district, London
    1911 Census - 43 Ritherdon Road, Upper Tooting SW. They had a son Geoffrey born 1907 Balham, Surrey, also with them was Ernest CATHCART, born aged 44 an Accountants Clerk born Kennington, Surrey and two Servants, a Kathleen WILLIAMS aged 28 born Monmouth and a Nellie Gertrude PAYNE a Child's Nurse born Oakley, Bedfordshire.
    1914 CATHCART William Marcus of Cairn Gorm Ullathorne-road Streatham Park Surrey died 20 March 1914 Administration (with Will) London 24 June to Leonora Elsie Cathcart widow. Effects £1422 15s 10d.
