    Note
Confusion about birth information for Benjamin.
There was a Benjamin DURBRIDGE born about 1820, but there were only 2 early Benjamin DURBRIDGE births registered, one in 1848 the other in 1887.
In 1871, two Benjamin DURBRIDGE's are listed, the one born 1820 and one born 1850 which is this Benjamin actually born 1848
In 1881, one Benjamin DURBRIDGE is listed, born 1854, married to Fanny and living in Reigate, Surrey (born Lockwood, Sussex)
In 1891, two Benjamin DURBRIDGE's are listed, father and son born 1855 (born Loxwood, Sussex) and 1887. Was the 1855 Benjamin the one born 1848? If not, where did the one born 1855 come from? There was no 1855 birth and he was not on previous census returns.
In 1901, two Benjamin DURBRIDGE's are listed, father and son born 1856 (born Foxwood (not Loxwood), Sussex) and 1888.
In 1911, Father and son (living in Reigate) are shown as born 1855 and 1888 respectively, father this time born just in "Sussex" (Not found using name Benjamin, used Fanny his wife)
If this is "our" Benjamin, as Benjamin senior's wife Fanny SPARKS was also shown as born 1855 perhaps Benjamin made himself younger because of the age of his wife. I would have happily accepted the different birth dates, but then added to that is the change in place of birth. However, he was born 1848, his father died in 1851, his mother remarried in 1857 and then she died in 1859 when Benjamin and his twin brother were about 10/11 years old. They were living with their step-father in 1861 but he died in 1891. Perhaps they had lost contact by the 1881 census, or perhaps the step-father did not know where the boys were born and so for some reason it was decided that Lockwood/Loxwood/Foxwood was their birth place. Help needed!
There was a death in the Reigate district, Surrey September quarter 1926 for a Benjamin DURBRIDGE age 80 making a birth year of 1846

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
