  1. 1851 Bugg Barrow, Bere Regis, Dorset
1861 5 Tower Hill, Bere Regis, Dorset
1871 Chamberlain’s Farm, Bere Regis, Dorset. Charles gave his age as 21 years making his birth date 1850
1881 Butt Lane, Bere Regis, Dorset
Notes referring to date of death
Charles and his wife had a child in 1889
He does not appear on the 1891 census
So presumably died between 1889 and 1891
However, the only Charles death which fits is in the March quarter of 1882, age 34
    More research required.
  2. 1871 Chamberlain’s Farm, Bere Regis, Dorset.
1878 Brick Kiln Lane, Bere Regis, Dorset (address given at burial)
  3. 1881 Butt Lane, Bere Regis, Dorset
1891 Cottage, Affpuddle, Dorset. Lodging with Mary A ORCHARD (70) Widow receiving Parish Pay, born Winfrith, Dorset
1901 Bryantspuddle, Dorset. Living with Mary A ORCHARD, (80) Head Widow born Winfrith, Dorset
  4. 1871 Chamberlain’s Farm, Bere Regis, Dorset.
    1881 Not found
  5. 1881 Butt Lane, Bere Regis, Dorset
1891 possible address Sandford Hill, Winscombe, Sandford, Axbridge, Somerset. Servant to James POOLE (56) Farmer born Bishopsworth, Somerset and his wife Betsey (59) born Uphill, Somerset. The servant is actually a Lucy COOK born 1873 Bere Regis, Dorset. John TERRY writes: "Just think as it is in the correct area it is likely that this is our Lucy but James got the name  wrong, ie "What's the cooks name?" "COBB" and put the name COOK down."
1901 1 Brook Cottage, Chew Magna,  Clutton, North Somerset
  6. 1881 Butt Lane, Bere Regis, Dorset
1891 Cranmer Road, Holdenhurst, Hampshire as Frank. Living as cousins with the PARSONS family. Alice PARSONS née LANGDOWN was the
daughter of Caroline COBB, sister of Francis COBB's father. Living with them was James PARSONS brother (16) Porter Fishmonger born South Cheriton, Somerset
1901 It has been impossible to find a Francis Charles COBB on the 1901 census. However, there is a Frank Charles COBB of the correct age born Bere Regis, Dorset who was a  prisoner in his Majesty's Royal Navy Prison, Lewes, Sussex. He was an Able Seaman in  the Royal Navy.
When doing the search for a marriage two brides names appeared. So, a search was then done for births with a COBB father and each of the brides’ names in turn for the mother. The birth of two children with a mother with the surname BURROWS were registered and so it has been assumed that this was the correct bride, and that the two children belonged to this family.
  7. 1881 Butt Lane, Bere Regis, Dorset
  8. 1891 Cottage, Affpuddle, Dorset Lodging with Mary A ORCHARD Head, Widow, Age 70 years, receiving Parish Pay, born Winfrith, Dorset
1901 Bryantspuddle, Dorset. Living with Mary A ORCHARD (80) Head, widow born Winfrith, Dorset
1911 Dorset, County Asylum, Charminster, Maiden Newton, Dorchester, Dorset

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
