  6. 1851 Census - 3 Military Road, Dover, Kent. They were living with Allen COLYER, father of Allen COLYER above. His father was 64 and a Carpenter, born Dover, Kent. His wife has been crossed through but was Frances COLYER, no age given but born in Dover, Kent, then there is Frances COLYER, daughter aged 23 a Sempstress, born Dover, Kent, Elizabeth COLYER, 20 Sempstress, born Dover Kent and Emily COLYER, 18, Sempstress, born Dover, Kent and then Allen, his wife and son William. Allen Colyer appears in the following directory for 1851 for Dover, Kent, Essex, Herts, Kent, Middlesex, Surrey, and Sussex Counties Post Office Directory, c. 1851. He is a Carpenter living in Military Road, which agrees with the information for this Census.
  7. 1841 Census - Military Road, St Mary, Dover, Kent. The wife of Allen on this Census is shown as Elizabeth (see Note 6) she is down as being 60 and Allen is down as being 50 but they rounded the ages up and down between 5 and 10 years in some cases on the 1841 Census, but it would appear that she was older than him.
  8. 1861 Census - 3 Military Road, St Mary, Dover, Kent.. Emily is with her father on this Census. It has Housekeeper for her occupation and then this has been crossed through.
  9. 1861 Census - No 10 Postland Place, Hougham, Kent
  10. 1871 Census - 4 Military Road, St Mary, Dover, Kent.
  11. 1881 Census - 37 Clarendon Street, Hougham, Kent.
  12. 1891 Census - 1891 Census - Folkstone Road, Hougham, Kent. They had a Mary COLYER, aged 5 Granddaughter, born Hougham, Kent with them

  18. 1871 Census - Bull Inn, Church Street, Farningham, Kent. Elizabeth and William had a son Alfred W aged 3 born Farningham, Kent. Emil AYRES sister aged 38 born Dover Kent, down as married was staying with them. They had a servant an Eliza Jane HIGZELL, aged 12 a Nursemaid born Sevenoaks, Kent.
