On the 7th November 2022 Mary CONISBEE, daughter of Peggy DON wrote the following and sent the picture that can be seen on this chart, to make things clearer I have today the 8th November 2022 added a new chart DON 0400
Marriage of Henry Frank DON and Daisy Harriet STEMP 6th September 1920 picture above taken at Randall's Park, Leatherhead, where Daisy's dad was head gardener. My mum always said her grandmother was head cook, but she didn't even know her name. (Mum said her grandmother felt her mum had 'married beneath her' but since she married one of the first submariners who went on to be an electrician on the Underground I disagree). After Daisy died shortly after childbirth in 1932 Frank insisted the 3 children should not go into care & be raised together and his sister Lyddie moved in to look after them. She was possibly divorced, certainly separated from her husband. My mum was bitter all her life because she, at 6, was excluded from the funeral & Daisy was rarely mentioned. She felt Lyddie was unkind but maybe she found it difficult to mother 3 kids when she had none of her own. There are a few later photos of the 3 children with their dad & Lyddie at the seaside, looking well cared for but sadly the grandparents don't seem to have been involved. As a grandma to 3 myself, I can't imagine cutting off contact like that.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
