Will of William DRING of Ellington
    - to John MEASURES of Ellington, Huntingdonshire farmer and to Benjamin MEASURES of Great Catworth, Huntingdonshire Farmer as Executors, the whole of my freehold, copyhold and other estates together with all personal property and effect on trust to dispose as follows:
    - to my wife Ann DRING all Freehold Copyhold and other estates together with personal property as long as she remains a widow. After her death or remarriage the property to be sold by public auction and the proceeds divided equally amongst William's four children, John, Mary, William and Henry Johnson DRING
    Witness: Thos Ludlam, Ellington
  2. 1820 Ellington, Huntingdonshire
    1841 Ellington, Huntingdonshire
    1851 Ellington, Huntingdonshire
Living with the family were Sarah LEWIN (15) House Servant and Thomas HAYNES (22)
    Farm Labourer
1861 Ellington, Huntingdonshire. As well as her son Henry she had a servant a Rachel HUCKLE aged 14.
1871 Ellington, Huntingdonshire. (Ann is down as being a Farmer with 20 acres, should this still be 120 acres-definitely shows as 12 but still with 3 men and 2 boys leads me to think it should be 120 acres). There is a servant with her a Mary SEWELL? 15 a General Servant.
    1881 Spaldwick Road, Ellington, Huntingdonshire
Living with Ann was Martha An ORTON, Servant, age 15. born Sapley, Huntingdonshire
  3. 1841 Ellington, Huntingdonshire
    1861 Ellington, Huntingdonshire
There is a marriage in December quarter 1866 of a John DRING to an Emma MARSHALL in St Ives. Not certain if this is correct marriage. The 1861 shows that this Emma was born in Godmanchester, which I am not certain is in the St Ives district. I would also have thought that John married after 1866 but before 1871.
  4. 1841 Ellington, Huntingdonshire
    1848 Ellington, Huntingdonshire
1851 Spaldwick, Huntingdonshire. They had a E FLACK, niece, aged 4 born Ipswich, Suffolk with them. There was a servant an Elizabeth HAINES, aged 14 born Ellington, Huntingdonshire.
1861 Ellington, Huntingdonshire. On this Census on Ancestry.com search they are down as HACK but very clearly FLACK when you look at the Census. Also Mary is down as May. With the family was a James HIRER (again Ancestry.com interpretation, I think it looks more like KIRER, BUT in feint small letters next to his name is the word DRING, I do not know why, but Mary's maiden name was DRING and that is the family we are interested in. He is down as a visitor but he is only three, so at that age I would think there would be some relationship with the family.
1871 Ellington, Huntingdonshire. With William and Mary was a William DRING, nephew, aged 8 a Scholar, born Ellington, Huntingdonshire. They also had a servant a Sarah BRADDOCK aged 13.
    1891 Church Lane, Ellington, Huntingdonshire
1881 High Street, Ellington Huntingdonshire. There was a William DRING, aged 18 nephew, Apprentice to Ironmonger, born Ellington, Huntingdonshire with William and Mary
1901 Census - Common Side, Ellington, Huntingdonshire. There was a Martha DEIGHTON as a servant with Mary who was a widow.
    Information for William FLACK
1841 Hardwick, Buckden, Huntingdonshire. William appears to be down as a Joiners Apprentice. His father was a William FLACK aged down as 50 and his mother was a Mary FLACK also 50 but remember ages were rounded up and down for this Census.
  5. 1841 Ellington, Huntingdonshire
    1851 Wickhambrook, Suffolk
(Colin DRING: The Drings of Warboys, The Ellington Branch 27/8/2000)
1871 Market Square, St Neots, Huntingdonshire. They had a General Servant a Rose Bennett aged 15.
1881 40 Lorn Road, Lambeth, Surrey
With Rebecca RICHARDSON (16) born Hail Weston, Huntingdonshire, General Servant hem.
1891 21 Winslade Road, Lambeth, Surrey
1901 Census - St Neots Huntingdonshire
  6. 1841 Ellington, Huntingdonshire
    1851 Ellington, Huntingdonshire
Living with the family were Sarah LEWIN (15) House Servant and Thomas HAYNES (22)
    Farm Labourer
1861 Ellington, Huntingdonshire. As well as her son Henry she had a servant a Rachel HUCKLE aged 14.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
