    SIDNEY W GOLDMITH, real estate; born N Y C Aug, 10 1888, son Leonard HALL and Rhoda Louise (FOX) GOLDSMITH. Educated New Rochelle Public Schools. At 14 worked for Frederick JENKINS in real estate office. Later real estate salesman for Charles A COLE and then for HAYDEN Realty Co. In 1909 went to California, passed six months on fruit ranch near San Francisco. Upon return to New Rochelle became office manager for Charles A COLE and in 1911 purchased the latter's insurance business. On March 1, 1912 became associated with L C KETCHUM and Winthrop POND in purchasing insurance business conducted under title Eli SHELDON Inc. These interests were merged into New Rochelle Agency, On Jan 1 he purchased Mr KETCHUM's interest and since then has continued as pres. New Rochelle Agency. Director North Avenue Bank; sec and treas. North Hugenot Corp; vice-pres. Anderson Apartments Corp; Locust Court Apartments Incl sec and treas 51 Rose St Corp; director Tierney Operating Co., Inc. Former vice-pres.     SIDNEY W GOLDSMITH is one of the most successful and influential exponents of real estate and insurance enterprise in Westchester Country, where he is the executive head of the New Rochelle Agency, the most substantial insurance concern in the country, with finely appointed offices at No. 234 Hugenot Street, New Rochelle. Mr GOLDMITH initiated his association with business affairs when he
    was a mere boy, and his splendid success and consecutive advancement stand as the direct result of his consistent applications of his powers and initiative, constructive and executive.
    Mr GOLDSMITH was born in New York City, August 10, 1888, a son of Leonard Hall and Rhoda Louisa (FOX) GOLDSMITH both of sterling English ancestry, and both natives of Westchester County, New York, The mother's parents settled on Fox Island, which later became known as David's Island, and which is now designated as For Slocum.
    In the public schools of New Rochelle, Sidney W GOLDSMITH continues his studies until he was fourteen years of age and then took the position of office boy for Frederick JENKINS.....(then much as above)

    1935  Sidney Wilmot GOLDSMITH sailed from Cherbourg, France on the 25th August 1935 on the "BERENGARIA". This Sidney Wilmot GOLDSMITH I would think must be related to the Sidney Wilmot GOLDSMITH on the chart above but he is down as being 17 (birth date 27th December 1916 and he came from New Rochelle, New York)
    1956 Departed from Montreal, Canada on the "Empress of Scotland" on 12th June 1956.

    Sidney Wilmot GOLDSMITH Jr becomes a clergeyman on 12 June 1956. He and his sister Margeret leave Montreal on the ship "Empress of Scotland" traveling first class. They leave the UK on 27 July 1956 at Liverpool on the same ship.
