1905 National Probate - WELL (GRANVILLE) Hubert Hedworth of Whites-cllub St James Middlesex died 17 April 1904 at Santa Cruz, Teneriffe, Canary-island Administration (with will) (Limited) London 15 February to Ethel Mary Grenvile Wells widow effects £65 There is a lot of information on various Web Sites about this family. It is well documented back to George Grenville (later Nugent-Temple-Grenville), 3rd Earl Temple, 1st Marquess of Buckingham (1784) As it is not a direct line for our own family I do not intend going any further back than this chart. 1906 3 Montague Mansions Bryanston Square, Marylebone, Westminster, Middlesex. Father - John Croft (Baronet) (Deceased) Gentleman (at second marriage) Daughter of Sir John Frederick Croft, 2nd Bt. and Emma Graham 1911 Granville Place Mansion, Protman Square, W. I believe that this is the correct couple as the marriage certificate would give the ages as 1858 for Alfred and 1870 for Ethel. Ethel is down as Ethel Mary but Alfred is down as Alfred Isaac not Alfred James as the marriage certificate in 1908. However I still believe it is the correct couple the are down correctly as being married four years. They have no children with them but there is a visitor a Mary MANNING married aged 56 born Colnnts, Ceylon, and two servants an Edith Lillian HEBBARD married 27 a General Servant Domestic born Greatcoate, Lincolnshire and a Mabel elizabeth BUTTON single aged 18 a Heneral Servant Domestic born Sawbybook, Lincolnshire. 1906 st Georges, Hanover Square, Marylebone, Westminster, Middlesex. Father William Benjamin (deceased) Merchant. 1911 Granville Place Mansion, Protman Square, W. I believe that this is the correct couple as the marriage certificate would give the ages as 1858 for Alfred and 1870 for Ethel. See WELLS for GRENVILLE. and then under the entry for WELLS it refers you to is says WELLS (GRENVILLE-) Yvo Hedworth Fortesque of 84 Susan-mansions Eloff-street Johannesburg South Africa died 26 December 1936 Probate Pretoria to Clara Isabel Grenville-Wells widow Effect £584 9s. 10d in England Sealed London 28 April. 1911 Waterside Westgate on Sea Kent. Rose was a Pupil at this School, The Headmistress was a Marie Christine RUSSELL aged 52 born Frankfurt of Maine.. There were five Governess's two sevant and 32 Schoolgirls
