This gallant young man who is now in his 21st year, enlisted duting the opening stages of the war and sustained shrapnel injuries to the head in the batle of the Somme. P Martin, 15 Portland Road, Gravesend. The service was conducted by the Rev. Michael Beck. The bride , given away by her father, wroe a full-length white borcade dress with a 6-ft train, a diamante tiara and a bouffant veil. She was attended by her four sisters, her cousin, Miss Julie Pearce, and Miss Dawn Foster, who wore short pink dresses and pink-flowered tiara. Three small pages were dress in Royal Marin unifords, They were made by the bride, a milliner, who also made her own gown and the bridesmaid's dresses. Mr. George Hancock (Bridegorrom's twin brother) was best man. The reception at St Botolph's Hall was attedned by 200 guests.
