  1. 1871 27 Castle Gate, Newark, Nottinghamshire.
1881 26 and 27 Castle Gate, Newark, Nottinghamshire.
1891 Not found at present (birth places seem to suggest he was in the Army, now confirmed)
1900 Bedfont, Hounslow, Middlesex (baptisms of Elizabeth, Harvey, Gertrude, Charles and Robert)
1901 Not found at present (birth places seem to suggest he was in the Army, now confirmed) (See note for 1901 for Mary below)
1911 The Bear Inn Swallowfield, Wokingham, Berkshire.
There is a WW1 Army record for Albert Edward Jeffries of Derby. These Army records confirm that this is the correct Albert Edward JEFFRIES as his father is given as Henry Charles JEFFRIES with an address in Newark, Nottinghamshire  and his wife is given as Mary Jane CORDERY who he married at Aldershot Parish Church. His Army records show he had been in Egypt in the 1880's and in South Africa around 1900. He appears to have signed up in 1884
  2. 1891 Have not been able to find on 1891 but I would have thought they would have been in Lee, Kent
1900 Bedfont, Hounslow, Middlesex (baptisms of Elizabeth, Harvey, Gertrude, Charles and Robert)
1901 London Road, Warfield, Berkshire. (Had the idea to look for his wife and I have found her, so now up to six children) (no husband with her)
1911 The Bear Inn Swallowfield, Wokingham, Berkshire.   Mary is down as being married 26 years and having had 7 children all of whom survive. Have only found three of these children. (Now found all seven)
  3. 1891 Not found at present
    1901 Not found at present
Again having found details below there is lots of information for Albert Charles on the Long Term Enlistment Army Records for him:
    This is a brief resumé
He was only 14 years 4 months when he enlisted, He was at that time only 4 feet 7 and a half inches tall and weighed 80 lbs. His chest expansion was being 26 and 28 and a half inches, his complexion fresh, his eyes blue and his hair was brown and his religion was Church of England and he had a Scar on the top of his head. He joined at Aldershot as a boy on 5th May 1900 and that was the date his engagement reckoned from. He attained 18 years of aged on 5th January 1904 and transferred to ranks on 18th January 1904, His first dischargement was on 4th May 1912 (have left out various other appointments etc between these dates) He was in England from 5th May 1900 to 22nd December 1904 a period of 4 years and 232 days, he was then in South Africa from 28th December 1904 to 24th January 1910 a period of 5 years 35 days and again was at home from 28th January 1910 until 4th May 1912 a period of 2 years 98 days, making a Total of 12 years. His father and mother are given as next of kin as Albert Edward and Mary of 4 New Road, Bedfont, Middlesex.
1911 Buller Barracks Area 5, Aldershot, Hampshire (having found details below, I believe this was the eldest son Albert on the 1911 Census)
Further details found on Army papers of Harvey Cunningham JEFFRIES.
Father A. E. JEFFREY Swallow Field, Berkshire
Elder Brother Albert Army service Corps
Younger Brothers Robert and Henry with Father.
This bit of information gives us the name of the last child "Albert" as Mary said she had 7 children all surviving on the 1911 Census. So there was an older son Albert than Harvey, at the present time do not know if he was the eldest but as Harvey was born in 1889 and his sister Elizabeth was born in 1888 I assume that Albert must have been older than Elizabeth and this is where for the present time I have shown him
  4. 1891 Not found at present
    1901 London Road, Warfield, Berkshire.
1911 The Bear Inn Swallowfield, Wokingham, Berkshire.
  5. 1891 Not found at present.
1900 Bedfont, Hounslow, Middlesex (baptisms of Elizabeth, Harvey, Gertrude, Charles and Robert)
1901 London Road, Warfield, Berkshire. (Both Harvey and Gertrude appear as 10 years old on this Census but the BMD appears to show them as being born in 1889 and 1891 so Harvey was in fact 12)
1904 Details of Harvey Cunningham Jeffries on enlistment to Army in 1904
Aged 15 years, Height 4 feet 10 and three quarter inches. Chest Measurement Minimum 25 and a half inches, Maximum 27 and a half inches. Complexion Fresh, Eyes Blue, Hair Light Brown Religion Church of England
Further detail found on Army papers of Harvey Cunningham JEFFRIES.
Father A. E. JEFFREY Swallow Field, Berkshire
Elder Brother Albert Army service Corps
Younger Brothers Robert and Henry with Father.
This bit of information gives us the name of the last child "Albert" as Mary said she had 7 children all surviving on the 1911 Census. So there was an older son Albert than Harvey, at the present time do not know if he was the eldest but as Harvey was born in 1889 and his sister Elizabeth was born in 1888 I assume that Albert must have been older than Elizabeth and this is where for the present time I have shown him
There is pages and pages of information for Harvey Cunningham JEFFRIES in the WWI Service Records including service, will etc etc. At some point he seems to have been in Ontario, Canada or gone to Ontario, Canada to live. a lot of the writing is very difficult to read, a lot of the documents repeat themselves but at some stage  he appears to have been promoted to Sergeant and then Lieutenant at some stage in his Army Career
March 1923 Harvey Cunningham JEFFRIES born about 1890 in Lee, Kent and aged 33 arrived in March 1923 in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada from Liverpool, England on the ship "Montcalm". This appears to confirm my comment about Canada in the various document for WWI (It would appear from the marriage details below, that they were in Canada in 1920, on Ancestry it say 1923 but I am sure looking at the actual document that this is incorrect)
1920 Other details given on marriage certificate. Residence of both bride and groom given as London Ontario, birth place of Harvey given as Lee, Kent, England. both bride and groom were Anglican. Father of Groom give as Albert Edward JEFFRIES and mother as Mary COURTRAY, The parents of Jeanie are given as William John BAILEY and Mary Emma HOPKINS. The witnesses address is given as 47 Evergreen Avenue, London, Ontario and the Clergyman was a Clarence W PAREMAN.
There is a possibility that the marriage was the second for Harvey and his first wife's name was Emily and she was about 13 years older than him. There are two trips to Canada in 1912 and 1913 where the person accompanying a Harvey JEFFRIES was an Emily and whereas he is down as being 22 and 23 respectively she is 35 and 36. I cannot find a marriage that fits either in England or in Canada.
  6. 1900 Bedfont, Hounslow, Middlesex (baptisms of Elizabeth, Harvey, Gertrude, Charles and Robert)
    1901 London Road, Warfield, Berkshire.
1911 Broadmoor Asylum Criminal Lunatic Asylum, Easthampstead, Sandhurst, Berkshire.
There is a Walter C BARNES born June quarter 1915 in Wokingham district, Berkshire with JEFFRIES as his mothers maiden name whom I believe to be a child of this couple.
  7. 1900 Bedfont, Hounslow, Middlesex (baptisms of Elizabeth, Harvey, Gertrude, Charles and Robert)
    1901 London Road, Warfield, Berkshire.
  8. 1900 Bedfont, Hounslow, Middlesex (baptisms of Elizabeth, Harvey, Gertrude, Charles and Robert)
    1901 London Road, Warfield, Berkshire.
1911 The Bear Inn Swallowfield, Wokingham, Berkshire.
1950 36 Galton Street, Paddington, London (London Electoral Roll) Again there was an Elsie with him.
1960 36 Carlton Street, Paddington, London (London Electoral Roll) There was an Elsie with him, was this his wife.
  9. 1901 London Road, Warfield, Berkshire.
1911 The Bear Inn Swallowfield, Wokingham, Berkshire.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
