  1. 1851 Census - Chapel Street, East Budleigh, Devon
  2. 1881 Census - Granary Lane, East Budleigh, Devon. Living next door to Herbert. It would appear the district on the BMD that these children were born was St Thomas district, Devon. I have found some of the children in this district but not all.
  3. 1891 Census - Jersey of Mayes?, East Budleigh, Devon
  4. 1901 Census - Granary, Budleigh Salterton, Devon. They had a son Frederick Gordon?, aged 3 months born Salterton, Devon
  5. 1901 Census - 31 ??? Crescent, Regents Park, St Pancras, London, they had a daughter Marjorie, aged 8 months, born Broxted, Essex
  6. 1901 Census - above town, Dartmouth, Devon. Two children, Agnes E, aged 6 born Budleigh Salterton, Devon and William J aged 2 born Budleigh Salterton, Devon.
  7. Not certain about who John married, we know from the 1901 Census that it was a Sarah, she is down as being born in Broxted  Essex in 1871 (there is a Broxted, Essex near Dunmow, there is also a Boxted Essex near Colchester, Essex. There are no marriages in Essex or Devon that match, the only one I can find as a possible is for a Sarah Ann WRIGHT to a John MEARS in September quarter of 1899 in the Hampstead London area, They were in Regents Park, St Pancras on the 1901 Census, so it is near this area, so I would think it is the most likely. However I cannot find a Sarah WRIGHT born about 1871 in Essex that matches what we want. The daughter is down as being 8 months and born in Broxted, Essex so born around 1900 and there is on the BMD a Marjorie Alice MEARS born September quarter 1900 in Dunmow district, Essex which would tie up with the Broxted near Dunmow, so I am certain this is correct. Taking it from there the only Sarah that comes up on the 1901 census as being born in Broxted, Essex in 1871 is Sarah MEARS, so we know this one, on the 1891 Census there is a Sarah A WOODCOCK, a Servant born in Woodcock and living in Brentford, Middlesex and a Sarah A SARILLE or SAVILL, a servant in Streatham, London, so either could be correct there are no other Sarah's that come up. On the 1881 Census there are three Sarah's a Sarah HOWLAND, a Sarah A TYRELL and a Sarah A WOODCOCK, they are all still living in Essex with their parents. Sarah HOWLAND is down as being born in 1873 so I think she is a little late, I think is is possible that Sarah A SAVILL could be the Sarah A TYRELL, as they are not certain of her name on the 1891 Census. So I think it is between the two Sarah A WOODCOCK or TYRELL (SAVILL) - but search on these names on the BMD I still cannot find the marriage.
  8. 1861 Census - 44 ?, East Budleigh, Devon

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
