    1851 Census - London Street, Basingstoke, Hampshire. James's brother Charles was living with James and his wife. They had a servant, Sarah SILVER aged 27 born ???, Hampshire.
    1861 Census - London Street, Basingstoke, Hampshire.  They had two servants, Charlotte MAY aged 26 and Jemima POPE aged 16. I would think the children were from his first wife Amelia.
    1871 Census - London Street, Basingstoke, Hampshire. They had two servants, a Ann COOMBES aged 24 born Binsted, Hampshire and a Elizabeth KEEP, aged16 a Nursemaid born Shalfieldsaye, Hampshire.
    1881 Census - 17 London Street, Basingstoke, Hampshire.

    1871 Census - 212 Upper Street, Islington, Middlesex. Alice was a Servant to an Emma SEWELL aged 63 a Fancy Dealer born Dunmow, Essex and her sister Jane  aged 60 also a Fancy Dealer, born Dunmow, Essex.
    1881 Census - 83 Bank Street, Maidstone, Kent. Alice was the Head and their was a visitor a Alice DOE aged 20 of No Occupation born Maidstone, Kent
    1891 Census - 205 High Street, St Nicholas, Rochester, Kent. Children - Susie A, 9 born Rochester, Kent, Charles W E 7 born Rochester, Kent, Barbara 4 born Rochester, Kent and Dorothy 2 born Rochester, Kent
    1901 Census - 21 Devonshire Prom, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire. Alice is down as Head but married, with no occupation, born Basingstoke, Hampshire, Children with her - Susie A ages 18 a Clerk, born Rochester, Kent, Charles William 16 a Watchmakers Apprentice, born Rochester, Kent, Dorothy 12 born Rochester, Kent and Cecil A 9 born Rochester, Kent
  6. 1861 Census - London Street, Basingstoke, Hampshire.  They had two servants, Charlotte MAY aged 26 and Jemima POPE aged 16. 
    1871 Census - 29 Clarence Square, Brighton, Sussex. She was with a Maisie L HATCH Aged 53 an Ecclesiastical Embroiderer born London. There were two other people in the property.

    1881 Census - Sarum Hill, Basingstoke, Hampshire. Gilbert was a boarder with a Joseph HINE, aged 38 a House Furnisher Dealer born Wilbraham, Cambridgeshire, his wife and mother were with Joseph.

    1891 Census - London Street, Basingstoke, Hampshire. There was an Ellen STEVENS, aged 25 a General Servant Domestic, born North Wanboro, Hampshire with the family
    1901 Census - 8 Longfield Road, North Wimbledon, Surrey. Blanche is down as Cousin, aged 33 born Basingstoke, Hampshire, she has no occupation. She is with Frederick BIRD, aged 45 a Silk Mercer, born Basingstoke, Hampshire, his wife, Ada Jane aged 43 born Basingstoke, Hampshire. The children of Frederick and Ada were Nora Jane Knight BIRD, aged17 born London, Kathleen Knight BIRD aged 12 born Wimbledon, Surrey. With them as well as Blanche were Jane KNIGHT, Mother-in-Law born Brown Candover, Hampshire and a servant Augusta PERKINS aged 21 born Chilhampton, Somerset. Jane Knight (formerly Paice) was the sister of Elizabeth, Blanche's mother, so Blanche was a cousin of Ada Jane.
