    1861 Census - Igshtham Common. Charles was a lodger with a Thomas SHORTER and family.
    1871 Census - 6 Parsons Road, Croydon, Surrey. Charles was Head of Household and only occupant.
    1881 Census - 4 New England Street, Brighton, Sussex
    1891 Census - 1 Byron Street, Hove, Sussex. With them was Mary A BLACKMAN a widow, mother in law aged 77 Selverge?, Kent, and an Edward BLACKMAN, aged 17 a nephew, Coachman, born Croydon, Surrey.

    1891 Census - 1 Byron Street, Hove, Sussex. With them was Mary A BLACKMAN a widow, mother in law aged 77 Selverge?, Kent, and an Edward BLACKMAN, aged 17 a nephew, Coachman, born Croydon, Surrey.

    1901 Census - 3 Montgomery Terrace, Aldrington, Sussex. It appears that George married a cousin as her name was BLACKMAN and that was his mother maiden name and they were both born in Ashford, Kent. Also with the family was an Edith BLACKMAN sister-in-law aged 15 born Ashford, Kent and a Boarder a Edward CHEESEMAN aged 27 a House Painter born Brighton, Sussex.
