Family History, Odell Chart 0300 Joseph Odell and Agnes Mary Upchurch

Now knowing that the father of Joseph was possibly Job I looked for Job on the 1881 Census and found him at this address. Irene is with them although she does not come up on the search on Ancestry.com. but only because they have her indexed as Irenee, Joseph is there, he is 10 and down as being born in Crawley Green, Luton, Bedfordshire. However even with this information I cannot find Joseph on the 1891 or 1901 Census. 1891 Census - 59 Shrubland Road Shoreditch, London 1891 Census 6 Court Road, Luton, Bedfordshire. On the 19th January 2008 I received from Susan O'Dell further information about this family. I have added this to the above chart 1881 Ramsey End, Warboys, Huntingdonshire 1891 High Street, Warboys, Huntingdonshire. Living with them was grandson William Giff UPCHURCH (3) born Warboys, Huntingdonshire 1901 38 Vicarage Street, Luton, Bedfordshire shown as married but no husband present. Lodging with them was Irene ODELL (33) Single, Straw Hat Machinist born Luton, Bedfordshire 1911 38 Vicarage Street, Luton, Bedfordshire. Shown as married but no husband present, she is down as having been married 19 years and having seven children all of whom survive. 1901 38 Vicarage Street, Luton, Bedfordshire 1911 236 High Town Road, Luton, Bedfordshire. Joseph is down as a Nephew with an Emma Jane ODELL who was the Head single aged 46 a Straw Hat Machinist, born Luton Beds, with Emma was her father Job a Widower aged 42? (not possible) an Old Age Pensioner, born New Mill End, Luton Bedfordshire, Irene ODELL Sister Single aged 44 a Straw Hat Machinist born Luton, Bedfordshire, Florence Sister aged 36 a Straw Hat Machinist born Luton, Bedfordshire, also with them was a Harry ODELL born 1898 down as a Nephew at School born Luton Bedfordshire. I would think this is the seventh child on the chart above and I have added him as such. 1901 38 Vicarage Street, Luton, Bedfordshire 1911 38 Vicarage Street, Luton, Bedfordshire. 1901 38 Vicarage Street, Luton, Bedfordshire 1911 38 Vicarage Street, Luton, Bedfordshire. 1911 236 High Town Road, Luton, Bedfordshire. Harry is down as a Nephew with an Emma Jane ODELL who was the Head single aged 46 a Straw Hat Machinist, born Luton Beds, with Emma was her father Job a Widower aged 42? (not possible) an Old Age Pensioner, born New Mill End, Luton Bedfordshire, Irene ODELL Sister Single aged 44 a Straw Hat Machinist born Luton, Bedfordshire, Florence Sister aged 36 a Straw Hat Machinist born Luton, Bedfordshire, also with them was a Joseph ODELL born 1893 down as a Nephew born Luton Bedfordshire. I have added Harry to this chart as Agnes had seven living children on the 1911 Census. We had six and as Joseph was with his Aunt and Grandfather as a Nephew on this Census I think that Harry who is listed as the same directly below him must be the seventh child. 1911 38 Vicarage Street, Luton, Bedfordshire. 1911 38 Vicarage Street, Luton, Bedfordshire. 1911 38 Vicarage Street, Luton, Bedfordshire. NOTE - At the beginning of the line the name is UNNIOT and through the years it changes until today it is ONYETT. At present we are not certain as to when the name actually became ONYETT. As there are several variants in the spelling I have put the name ONYETT first on all the charts and then followed that with the spelling for that particular chart and indexed the whole line under ONYETT. ie ONYETT/UNYAT Chart 0700. The actual name as we have it appears for the actual people on the Chart. Having received information for this Chart from Susan O'DELL it appears that this name came from ODLE to ODELL to O'DELL.
