No wife present (possibly she is using the name HOLDER and is living with Henry EDWARDS and family)

    1861 Census - There is a Peter OLDER, Age 77 a Clockmaker, born Haslemere, Surrey living at Hare Lane, Godalming, Surrey, it says Unmarried and he is the only one in the household. He must be related to this family and is either an Uncle or possibly the unmarried is wrong and he is the father of this Peter.

Living with them were William MITCHELL (25) and Thomas MITCHEL (25) both Agricultural Labourers born Surrey. Another family were Elizabeth CHITTY (25), Frederick CHITTY (5), Thomas CHITTY (3) and James CHITTY (1) all born Surrey
    1851 Norbrook, Wonersh, Hambledon, Surrey possibly as HOLDER Servant of Henry EDWARDS (45) Farm labourer and his son Henry (13) born Wonersh, Surrey and his nephew Henry ETHERINGTON (10) and niece Elizabeth ETHERINGTON

    (probably Harriett HOLDER/HOLDEN was Harriett OLDER née STEMP, sister of Henry and Elizabeth's mother Ann. No status is entered on the 1851 census to indicate  whether Harriet was married or a widow.

    1881 Census - The Common, Cranleigh, Surrey - Peter is down as married on this Census, but there is no Caroline with him. He has a Ruth Bennett, Housekeeper (the Housekeeper has been crossed through)  with him, who is 44 and  was born in Newdigate, Surrey and an Abigail Bennett, Servant Daughter a Scholar Age 12 born Cranleigh, Surrey
    1891 Census - The Common, Cranleigh, Surrey - Peter and Caroline are both down on this Census. No children for this marriage. Caroline is now 64 (U or Upton on Censuses not Hopton)
