Shown as living with George is his wife Sarah and and son Walter. But, living at Shrums Lane, Minster, Kent there is a Sarah SETTERFIELD, shown as a widow, with daughter Fanny. Given other information we have we believe the following to have been the situation: George and Sarah SETTERFIELD baptised a daughter Ann Philpotts SETTERFIELD on the 5th January 1862 in Minster, a son Walter in 1864 (whose baptism we have not yet found) and a daughter Fanny SETTERFIELD baptised on the 4th August 1867 again in Minster. By 1881 daughter Ann/Annie had had left home and was a Cook in a girls' school, and her parents, George and Sarah were no longer living together. However, when completing the census information, George said he had a wife Sarah, and Sarah said she was a widow. At that time son Walter was living with his father, and daughter Fanny with her mother. In 1891 and 1901 George still said he was married, but there were no wife living with him. In 1901 Annie SANDFORD and Annie M SANDFORD, George's daughter and granddaughter were living with him. We have entered the information about this family accordingly until such time as we are advised that our assumptions are incorrect. 1891 High Street, St Lawrence, Ramsgate, Kent. There were also 2 visitors, Elizabeth N NEWINGTON (22) born Chilton, St Lawrence, Kent and Frederick W HAYDON (19) Ship's Blacksmith born Broad Oak, Kent, both Single 1854 Chilton, Kent 1881 Shrums Lane, Minster, Kent with her daughter 1881 45 Townley Street, Ramsgate, Kent. also shown as living at this address with her husband and son 1881 Census - Nadoma House, Ramsgate, Kent. Rebecca GRANT (52) was Principle of a School, her mother, Mary GRANT (87) lived with her. there was a Housekeeper, three Assistant Teachers, a Visitor and 24 girl pupils, a Housemaid and Kitchen Main. 1881 45 Townley Street, Ramsgate, Kent 1891 Mayes ?, St Lawrence, Ramsgate, Kent . Visiting them was Sarah Ann SETTERFIELD, (69) married, born St Lawrence, Kent Living on own means. Was this Walter's mother? 1901 1 Mayes Villa, St Lawrence, Ramsgate, Kent. Boarding with them was Albert E UPWARD (38) born Newport, Isle of Wight, Hampshire Wood Joiner 1911 69 St Lukes Avenue Ramsgate, Kent With them was a Florence Helen STIMPS a Visitor Single, aged 23 a Cook Domestic, born Ramsgate, Kent 1881 Shrums Lane, Minster, Kent 1890 Minster, Kent 1901 Augustine Road, Minster, Kent (no number or name of house given) (RG13/819 Folio 11 Page 14) 1911 Augustine Road, Minster, Thanet, Kent. With the family was Sarah SETTERFIELD, Mother-in-Law aged 81 born St Laurence, Kent
