  1. 1841 Elmstone, Kent. On this Census there is a George SETTERFIELD aged 48 so correct age and born in Kent, he is an Ag Labourer, his wife is down as Mary (not Mercy) and is 50, There is a Charles aged 13 so he ties in with what we have, ie born 1828. However there is no Mary Ann who appears on later censuses but she could be elsewhere as a Domestic Servant etc. There are also the following additional children Thomas aged 10, William aged 8 and Sarah aged 6, all born in Kent. (I do think this is the correct family and I have added three additional children to the chart above and put (Mary) in brackets for Mercy (Mary) SOLLY
    1851 Lane, Elmstone, Kent
1861 Census Nonington Mill, Nonington, Kent. George was living with daughter Mary Ann DILNOTT née SETTERFIELD and her husband.
    1871 Not found at present
  2. 1841 Elmstone, Kent.
  3. 1841 Upton House, Worth, Kent. Mary was at this address, I am certain correct person as in the same houshold is a Jame DILNOT who she finally married. There is also an Elizabeth DILNOT aged 20 a Thomas SOLLY aged 8, a Thomas COLLETT aged 65 a Catherine COLLETT aged 25 and a Mary HABOND aged 25 (remember ages are rounded up and down on this Census)
1851 Lane, Elmstone, Kent. With her father George, Charles her sibling was not with family.
1861 Census Nonington Mill, Nonington, Kent. Mary's father was living with Mary and her husband on this census
1871 Census - Nonington Mill House, Nonington, Kent.  They have a Blanch Sarah LINDLEY niece, aged 10 born Woolwich, Kent with them.
  4. IGI information, submitted by a member of the LDS Church,
    1861 Cottage, Wye, Kent
  5. IGI information, submitted by a member of the LDS Church,
1851 Bull Town Farm, Brabourne, Kent. Henry was a servant to a George Carter ROLLS aged 43 a Farmer of 214 Acres Employing 10 Labourer born Sillinge, Kent and his wife and children. There were three other servants.
1861 Darlington Place, Folkestone, Kent. Children Mary Ann aged 9 a Scholar born Ashford, Kent, Anne Maria aged 8 born Wareho??, Kent. There was a visitor a Mary Lydia Quested aged 17 a Servant born Wye, Kent and a Lodger a Rosina MILTON aged 19 a wife of mariner born Buckland, Kent
  6. IGI information, submitted by a member of the LDS Church, but Jane born in Elmstone cropped up before and I thought she might belong as only other SETTERFIELD that has come up on Censuses born in Elmstone, Kent, so have added until proved otherwise.
1851 10 Rutland Gate, Westminster, London. Jane was a Housemaid to a E. W. WESTON a Widow aged 54 and family.
  7. 1841 Elmstone, Kent.
1855 We were told Charles married in 1855 but cannot find a marriage on the BMD. The marriage shown is for Elizabeth BROWNING who were told was his wife and two females come up and only one male, not Charles so I thought this was the most likely, but looking at the SETTERFIELD's in that quarter the only one is a Frances Elizabeth born in Thanet district, So I am not sure if this is in fact the correct marriage.
1861 Census - Willesborough Lees, Willesborough, Kent.
1871 Census - Willesborough Lees, Willesborough, Kent.
1881 Census Willesboro Lees, Willesboro, Kent
1891 3 River Cottage, Willesborough, Kent
    1901 Lees, Willesborough, Kent
  8. 1841 Elmstone, Kent.
1851 Mill farm, Stone Street, Petham, Kent. Thomas was a Agricultural Servant to a Thomas GAMBILL aged 45 a Farmer of 60 acres with 2 labourers born Petham, Kent and his family.
1861 9 Fancy Street, Folkestone, Kent. There was a daughter-in-law a Sarah C MEDDINGS aged 6 a Scholar born Folkestone, Kent with the family which suggests that Sarah had been married before.
  9. 1841 Elmstone, Kent.
  10. 1841 Elmstone, Kent.

Lots of work still to do to this Chart.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
