    1902 At St Clement's Church, Marrickville, on the 16th January, a marriage took place between Mr. J. E. Snelling, eldest son of Mr. J. G. Snelling of Ramsgate, England, and Miss Alice Planner, eldest daughter of the late Mr. R. H. Planner of Melbourne, and the eldest granddaughter of Mr. W. H. Hookham, of Sydenhamville, Sydenham-road, Marrickville, the ceremony being perforded by the Rev. Mr. Brown, incumbent. The bride, who was given away by her grandfather, wore ivory China silk, handsomely trimmed with chiffon and ace, the veil being worked in the corneres with the birde's initials by her aunt, Mrs. Martin. The four bridesmaids were Mis Planner (sister of the bride), Miss Snelling (sister of the bridegroom), Miss Martin and Miss Maud Hookham (cousins of the bride), all of whom were dressed in white mercerised muslin, lace and insertion, and carried handsom bouquets. Mr G W Snelling was best man. After the ceremony the wedding party adjourned to the residence of Mr. Hookham, where about 40 guests were entertained. After the breakfast the group was photographed on the lawn. The presents were numerous and costly.
