1851 Abbey Bailiff House, Minster, Kent.
    1855 St Peters, Broadstairs, Kent
  2. 1861 Census - St Nicholas, Wade, Kent
    Father - Elijah EMPTAGE
I received the following by email from a Joan LEARY regarding Elizabeth EMPTAGE:
re Sole Chart 0400, Elizabeth Emptage is an member of my extended family, the daughter of Elijah Emptage and Sarah Brice who married in 1824, Elizabeth was one of nine children and is thought may have had a double wedding with her sister Eliza, Elijah was born in 1797 died 1873 and the son of John Emptage and Sarah Impett, John was born in 1765 and was the son of Henry born 1737 and Ann Peal who married in 1763 at St. Nicholas Wade
This family is registered on the All Saints Birchington records with St. Nicholas Wade added to the entry, why I cannot as yet find out.
  3. 1861 Census - St Nicholas, Wade, Kent
1871 Census - John WADE was a Servant, age 15 a Pot boy. He was at the " Prince Albert Inn" 11 Kings Street, Ramsgate. The head was a George Frederick ROOD, Head, Age 49 a Licensed Victualler born Ramsgate, Kent
  4.
  5. 1861 Census - St Nicholas, Wade, Kent
1871 Thomas and James SOLE  (James was down as George J SOLE), I would think were in the Workhouse, in Minster, Kent. The Census shows a long list of names of people, but the left hand side of the sheet has been torn off. They are down as Paupers and Labourer's Orphan and in Minster, Kent, so I assume that is where they are. Going to page 1 of his Census the first person listed is Head of Workhouse, so this confirms that they were in Minster, Workhouse.
Cannot find Thomas at the present time on the 1881 Census.
  6. 1861 Census - St Nicholas, Wade, Kent
1881 Census - James SOLE, aged 21 Unmaried, was an Able Seaman on  the Vessel "White Rose" - born St Nicholas, Kent. The Master of the vessel was a Charles ROLFE, married age 31
Cannot find James on at the present time on the the 1891 Census.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
