    It is probable that the name is PURRIER/PERRIER

    Janet ALLEN writes that for a number of years he ran the Cranleigh Hotel pub which at that time was one of the houses behind the present pub.

Janet ALLEN writes : “In my grandparents’ house there was a huge picture of him as an umpire”
    Maude was born when her parents were 50 and 48. George is said to have disowned his father.

    One of the sisters was killed under a horse bus in London when she was 20/21. The other probably married a BALCHIN. Their child was about 6 weeks older than Maude. We have now found that it is the daughter of Louisa who married a BALCHIN

    A Newspaper cutting of the wedding described it as the marriage of two well known families in the village
