  1.
  2. 1793 Cranley, Surrey (baptism). Father - John, Mother - Jane
1817 Cranley Workhouse, Cranley, Surrey (baptism of William. no father shown)
1841 Not found as STEMP or variants
A Mary STEMP had a son, William, in 1817. A William STEMP (father John) married Charlotte HEDGER in 1846, both of Full Age (born before 1825). A William STEMP, age 33 (born 1818) and wife, Charlotte, lived in Cranley in 1851. At present there is no likely William, father John, to fit these details. Considering this information, and the possibility that William could have been brought up to recognise John, his grandfather, as his father, the William has been included as the son of this Mary
There were two possible Mary STEMP marriages
A Mary STEMP married Matthew Taylor STEDMAN (commonly known as Matthew TAYLOR) on the 10th May 1812 in Cranley, Surrey, witnesses Eliz BLANCH and Dan PULLEN but we believe this Mary was the daughter of William STEMP and Hannah STEPNEY
Another Mary STEMP married John JAMES on the 25th December 1819 in Ewhurst, Surrey, witnesses James STEMP and Solm CHILD. There are no clues to indicate whether this marriage relates to this Mary STEMP but as she had no brother names James and her father was John it seems unlikely that this marriage does belong to this Mary

1851 Turnpike Gate Village, Cranley, Hambledon, Surrey
1851 Cranley, Surrey (baptism of Ellen)
1853 Cranley Common, (baptism of Thomas)
1856 Guildford, Surrey (baptism of William Henry)
1861 26 South Street, Guildford, Surrey

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
