  1. 1914 38 Balfour Road, Bromley, Kent (marriage)
1921 38 Balfour Road, Bromley, Kent (birth of Kathleen Gwen)
  2. 1901 68 Victoria Road, Chesterton, Cambridgeshire. Dorothy was with her grandparents William MUNNS aged 62 a Coppersmith and Brazier (own account) born Cambridge, Cambridgeshire and Maria MUNNS aged 58 born Newnham, Cambridgeshire
In 1901 Dorothy’s mother had left her husband and was living with a Frederick ASPLIN
At the time Dorothy would only have been 5....I know she was with her grandparents in 1901....but that was just one census night. Maybe Dorothy came to think of herself as an ASPLIN and did not find out her real name until she married in 1914?
Taking into account the note above we believe that Dorothy put herself down as Dorothy ASPLIN on the 1911 Census
1911 Market Place, Ely, Cambridgeshire (down as Dorothy ASPLIN) was a servant - housemaid with a Harold ARCHER a Solicitor and his wife Sophia Eliza Little ARCHER and their family. There were three other servants

  4. The following information gives the name as Colin Kenneth rather than Colin Keith but age and place of birth are correct and there was only one Colin K born about this date.
Information from Forces War Records sent by John TERRY 29/10/2014
    First Name: Colin Kenneth
    Initials: C K
    Surname: Stimpson
    DOB: Circa 1920
    Age: 24
    Birth County: Kent.
    Nationality: British
    Resided County: Northamptonshire.
    Date of Death: 16/05/1944
    Rank: Sapper
    Service Number: 248945
    Campaign Medals: War Medal 1939-1945
As with most Armed Forces Serving Personal during the conflict of World War Two, Colin Kenneth Stimpson was entitled to the War Medal 1939-1945. This medal was awarded to all full time service personnel who had completed 28 days service between 3rd September 1939 and the 2nd September 1945. Eligible personnel who had been “Mentioned In Despatches” during the War were entitled to wear a bronze oak leaf emblem on the ribbon. Those eligible for a campaign star, yet who had their service cut short by death, wounds or capture by the enemy, still qualified for this medal.
    1939-45 Star
Given the information available to us it is likely that Colin Kenneth Stimpson was awarded the 1939-45 Star for operational Service in the Second World War between 3rd September 1939, and 2nd September 1945.
Colin Kenneth Stimpson would have been awarded this star if their service period was terminated by their death or disability due to service. Also the award of a gallantry medal or “Mention In Despatches” also produced the award of this medal, regardless of their service duration.
Fighter Aircraft Crew who took part in the Battle of Britain (10 July to 31 October 1940) were awarded the "Battle of Britain" bar to this medal. In undress uniform, a silver-gilt rosette was worn on the medal ribbon to denote the award of this clasp.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
