  1. 1891 Census -
1901 Canada Census - Halifax (City of - Ward/Quartier No 5 ), Nova Scotia,  Canada.
1911 Census - Minden Barracks Deep Cut, Minder Barracks, Farnham, Surrey
On 16th March 2009 I heard from Ruth TALLOWITZ regarding this family. She had been able to add a lot of information to this chart, mainly that James married twice both time to an Ellen, so explaining an age difference I had between one census and the next. I have now amended the chart to take in the information she sent.
  2. 1871 Census - 1 Marine View, Alverstoke, Hampshire (Helen is down as Ellen on this Census, on the BMD is down as Ellen on later Censuses she is down as Helen)
1881 Census - 6 Gambier Place, Alverstoke, Hampshire
1891 Census - 43 Shaftsbury Road, Alverstoke, Hampshire. Eliza was with her parents on this Census. The household was: - George R SHANNON aged 66 a Naval Pensioner, born Corfu, (British Subject), Ann SHANNON aged 64 born Guernsey, Eliza NEWMAN, daughter, married, aged 34 born Gosport, Hampshire, Helen STYSON daughter, married, aged 28 born Gosport, Hampshire, Martha E SHANNON, single, daughter, aged 26 a Draper's Assistant, born Gosport, Hampshire, Robert W SHANNON, son, aged 23 a Post Office Clerk, born Gosport, Hampshire, Emily SHANNON, daughter, aged 21 a Draper's Clerk born Gosport, Hampshire, Dorothy H? NEWMAN granddaughter, aged 1 born Chiddingfold, Surrey, Arthur J A STYSON, grandson, aged 9 months born Ireland and Robert L NEWMAN, grandson, aged month, born Gosport, Hampshire.
1890 in Ireland which ties up with the 1891 English Census, additional children that only appear on this Census - Phyllis A born 14th August 1892 possibly St Lawrence, but crossed through and Henry G B born 10th June 1900 in Nova Scotia, Canada
  3. 1891 Census - 43 Shaftsbury Road, Alverstoke, Hampshire. With his mother and grandparents on this Census.
1899 Marriage information - Resident of Halifax, born Ruthin N.Wales. daughter of Joseph a Surveyor and Eleanor
1901 Canada Census - Halifax (City of - Ward/Quartier No 5 ), Nova Scotia,  Canada. (Birth date given on Canadian 1901 Census). Family is in Canada on this Census, I am certain correct one, but birth date for Ellen is slightly out. Arthur J is correct and is down as being born on 7th July
1911 Census - Minden Barracks Deep Cut, Minder Barracks, Farnham, Surrey.  They appear to have a son Henry George Bobs?, aged 10. I cannot find him on the BMD but there is a Gerald Bryan STYRAN born September quarter 1904 Farnham district, Surrey and died the same quarter aged 0 who I would think was the same family.
  4. 1891 Census - 43 Shaftsbury Road, Alverstoke, Hampshire.
1901 Canada Census - Halifax (City of - Ward/Quartier No 5 ), Nova Scotia,  Canada.
  5. 1901 Canada Census - Halifax (City of - Ward/Quartier No 5 ), Nova Scotia,  Canada.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
