With William and Harriett was a George SHAPLAND, aged 2, in the same or previous property was a Thomas MUNNS aged 35 a Labourer and Ann MUNNS aged 35. 1851 Census - 61 King Street, Ramsgate, Kent. With the family was George SHAPLAND, Nephew, aged 12 a Scholar, born Ramsgate, Kent, a Daniel C STEDDY a Lodger unmarried aged 26 a Carpenter Journeyman born Wye, Kent and a John RATE a Lodger unmarried aged 19 a Carver born St Pancras, Middlesex. 1861 Census - Salem House, Lee Street, Ramsgate, Kent. At the same property as Lodgers were Elizabeth THOMAS aged 47 a Milliner born Ramsgate, Kent, Mary THOMAS aged 45 a Dressmaker born Ramsgate, Kent and Sarah THOMAS aged 37 a Milliner aged 37 born Ramsgate, Kent. 1876 117 King Street, Ramsgate, Kent (death of mother) Informant at death of mother, Margaret TERRY, 28th February 1876 The picture of the Gravestone sent to me by Donald KNIGHT on 13th January 2007 gives me the additional information of the death date of Harriett SHAPLAND TERRY Brick Grave No. BA 315 Selected by William Munns TERRY in unconsecrated ground and purchased 6th September 1880 There is obviously an error in the dates recorded here as William could not have purchased the grave two days after he died! On the 1911 census Harriett is shown as having been married 38 years and having had 2 children both still alive
