    1851 Census - 61 King Street, Ramsgate, Kent. With the family was George SHAPLAND, Nephew, aged 12 a Scholar, born Ramsgate, Kent, a Daniel C STEDDY a Lodger unmarried aged 26 a Carpenter Journeyman born Wye, Kent and a John RATE a Lodger unmarried aged 19 a Carver born St Pancras, Middlesex.

    The picture of the Gravestone sent to me by Donald KNIGHT on 13th January 2007 gives me the additional information of the death date of Harriett SHAPLAND TERRY

    There is obviously an error in the dates recorded here as William could not have purchased the grave two days after he died! More research required.
