  1.
  2. Suzanne's baptism reads "Suzanne, daughter of John Turmaine and Catherine Bequiere or Bequire, his wife has been baptised, having for Godfather Nor Turmaine and Godmother Susanne Dermancours, was born 8 March 1754.
  3.
  4.
  5. 1841 Census - Queen Street, Deal, Kent. Catherine was a Female servant to a Jeremiah READ who is down as being 75 Independent and born in Kent. (This could just be her Stepfather, see chart above, the ages are rounded up and down but if he was born in 1747 as we have then he would have benn 94 in 1841 a long way from the 75 that is down on the Census, but it is rather a coincidence that the name is the same.
  6. 1841  Census - Buckland Street, Buckland, Kent. There was a John THOMAS, aged 17 a Whiting Maker born Kent (son?), Elizabeth THOMAS 23 born Kent (daughter?) and a Ann THOMAS aged 3 born Kent (granddaughter?) as I think Ann would have been too old to have her.
1851 Census - Buckland, Kent. On this Census Ann is shown as being born in 1784 which makes her younger than Anthony and this is shown on the Census, on the 1841 Census she is shown as being two years older than him. With them was Elizabeth, daughter aged 34 a Laundress born Buckland, Kent, John (married)  son, aged 28 a General Labourer born Buckland, Kent, James, son, aged 23 a Whiting Maker, born Buckland, Kent, Eliza 5 a granddaughter, a Scholar, born Buckland, Kent and Harriett 4 a granddaughter, a scholar, born Buckland, Kent
1861 Census - "Whiting Maker" 106 Buckland Street, Buckland, Kent. With him was his son James, aged 33 a widower, a Whiting Maker Assistant born Dover, Kent, James a Grandson, aged 3 months born Dover, Kent and a Susannah HOBBS a Servant a widow aged 46 a Housekeeper born Dover, Kent.
  7. 1841 Census - Buckland Street, Buckland, Kent
1851 Census - Buckland Bottom, Buckland, Kent. with her was a son George EAST, aged 34 a Proprietor of Houses, a widower born Buckland, Kent and his daughter Caroline EAST aged6 a Scholar, born Buckland, Kent.
1861 Census - 104 Buckland Street, Buckland, Kent
1871 Census - Dover Union Workhouse, Hougham, Buckland, Kent

  13. The original information for this Chart started with a contact through Genes Reunited from a James and Liz PHILLIPS, I then started adding information using Ancestry.com, the IGI, BMD's and various other sources. I then found http://www.greathead.org/Index.htm which covers in detail the CAREY and TURMAINE families and a lot of the information has been taken from that site. My thanks to Jan COOPER the originator of that site for a wonderful bit of investigative Family History which has saved me hours of work. This is a fairly remote connection to my own family and comes through my wife's side POLTON - STEDMAN - PAGE - CAREY.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
