1871 1 Sparrow Castle, St John Margate, Kent. 1851 Sparrow Castle?, St John, Margate, Kent 1861 Back of 1 Prospect Place, called Sparrow Castle, St John, Margate, Kent 1871 1 Sparrow Castle, St John Margate, Kent. Mary was with her father George on this Census. 1881 131 High Street, Ramsgate, Kent - Mary is down a Jane on this Census, so possibly incorrect but she has a son with her name Henry W aged 10 born Margate and she is down as being born in Margate. She is down as a widow, and a lodging house keeper. She has another child, Rosa aged 7 also born Margate, both of the children are scholars. 1891 25 Effingham Street, Ramsgate, Kent. I am now sure it is the correct person, she married as Mary Jane, although appearing on censuses as Jane and was born Mary Jane. Have found both marriages. On this Census Henry and Rosa are both with the family as step children, so correct there, Henry is a Grocers Assistant. Jane and John have there own child a Jessie WEST aged 7 born Ramsgate, Kent. 1901 28 Effingham Street, Ramsgate, Kent. Daughter Jessie WEST still with them aged 17 a Dressmaker. Also a Boarder, a Frederick MILLS, aged 24 a Grocers Assistant, born Horsham, Surrey. (Horsham is in Sussex but it does say Surrey) 1891 25 Effingham Street, Ramsgate, Kent. I am now sure it is the correct person, she married as Mary Jane, although appearing on censuses as Jane and was born Mary Jane. Have found both marriages.
