  1. 1777 There are three other children baptised on the IGI in Burghill, Herefordshire with a Thomas and Ann as parents in the correct period. William, 24th January 1786, John 29th October 1780 and Elizabeth 12td December 1790.
1841 Clehonger, Herefordshire. With Thomas was an Ann WHITNEY down as 35 (ages are rounded up and down on this Census) and a WIlliam WHITNEY aged 2 both born in Herefordshire. I have assumed that Ann was a daughter of Thomas. I do not know where William aged 2 fits in.
1851 Hazley Hill, Lugwardine, Herefordshire. Thomas was with his son James on this Census.
  2. Mothers name as given on IGI baptisms of Mary, William and Thomas
  3. Mary WHITNEY baptised 27th April 1801 in Allensmore, Herefordshire (IGI Baptism)
  4. 1841 High Street, Weobly, Herefordshire
1851 Worlds End Lane, Weobly, Herefordshire. With the family was an Amelia WHITNEY a Granddaughter aged 4 and a Caroline WHITNEY Granddaughter aged 1 both born Weobly, Herefordshire.
1861 Brad Street, Weobly, Herefordshire. With the family was Emelia, aged 14 born Weobly, Herefordshire.
IGI marriage information extracted from actual records.
1803 IGI Baptism extracts for actual records for locality. Parents down as Thomas and Mary.
There was also a Mary WHITNEY baptised 27th April 1801 in Allensmore, Herefordshire with a Thomas WHITNEY as father and a Mary as mother. On 27th August 1813 (so ten years after William there was a Thomas WHITNEY baptised 27tth August 1813 in Allensmore, Herefordshire with Thomas WHITNEY and a Mary as the mother, who could also be a sibling of William.
  5. 1841 Hagley, Lugwardine, Herefordshire. Children Elizabeth 5 and Emma 3 with the family was a James HASCUM aged 13 a Tailors Apprentice, James SIMMIND aged 20 a Tailors Apprentice and a Robert PIRCE aged 30 a Butcher all born in Herefordshire.
1851 Hazley Hill, Lugwardine, Herefordshire. (Found on 1851 with a John WHITNEY with them as an Apprentice (see WHITNEY Chart 0500), from information on this Census I believe that James was a brother of William and both were children of Thomas):
Children Elizabeth aged 15 a Scholar born Lugwardine, Herefordshire, Emma aged 13 a Scholar born Lugwardine, Herefordshire, Arthur aged 4 born Lugwardine, Herefordshire. Also with the family other than John who was 15 a Tailors Apprentice born Weobly, Herefordshire (see WHITNEY Chart 0500), were the following a Thomas WHITNEY Father married aged 74 a Tailor (Annuitant born Burghill, Herefordshire, Mary LLOYD a visitor Married aged 47 born Allensmore, Herefordshire, George Spencer age 15 a Tailor Apprentice born Withington, Herefordshire An Elizabeth HODGES aged 15 a House Servant born Farrington, Herefordshire, a Robert HOPGOOD aged 41 a Tailor Journeyman born Lemingford, Warwickshire and a William WHEEL a Tailor Journeyman born Dilwyn, Herefordshire. (I have added everyone as I believe that James was a brother of William, the head person above and that William WHITNEY, the father living with James on this Census was the father therefore of both of them which will show when I add WHITNEY chart 0600).
There were baptisms on the IGI for the three children we have found for James and Emma. We have the first child down as Elizabeth WHITNEY but she was baptised as Mary Elizabeth on 11th July 1836 and born on 18th March 1836 in Lugwardine, Herefordshire. Emma is down as Emma Louisa baptised 9th July 1838 in Lugwardine, Herefordshire and Arthur as Arthur James baptised 26th October 1846 in Lugwardine, Herefordshire.
  6. Thomas WHITNEY baptised 27tth August 1813 in Allensmore, Herefordshire (IGI baptism)
  7. 1841 Clehonger, Herefordshire.

I am certain there was more children than I have shown above, there is a large gap between 1803 and 1811

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
