Information for Peter YARROW and Alma YARROW née REMINGTON by Orville Yarrow
Peter W Yarrow cam to Clay County with his parents, James and Mary, in 1870 at the aged of 11. Much of his boyhood was spent in Pottawatomie County in the home of a family named Beech. As a young man he worked in lumber camps in Oregon, returning to Clay County, Kansas, sometime in the 1880's.
Peter W. Yarrow and Alma D. Remington were married November 8, 1894 and went to housekeeping on the farm now occupied by the Larry Yarrow NW1/4 of Sec 23-9-3. Dad had lived there awhile before as a bachelor, but I don't know how long. I think it was 1900 when they sold out and went to Oregon, where I was born in 1901.
They returned to Kansas (1902 I think) to the old Remington homestead place, (where Mother and her twin sister, Alice, have been born) E1/2 of the SW1/4 and W1/2 of the SE1/4 of Sec. 18-95-3E. Some remodeling of the house was done in 1905 and 06. My sister, MAry was born here in September, 1907. They sold and moved to near Eureka, California, spring of 1908, returned to Kansas in the fall of the seam year to the James Yarrow homestead, N.40 ofW1/2 of the SE1/4 and N.40 of E1.2 of the SW1/4 of 29-9-3. The other 80's in the same section were acquired.
In 1914theybought and moved to a farm north of Wakefield on the Republican river. Many improvements were added to this farmstead over the years.
Retiring from farm life in 1927 they built a new home in Wakefield, Kansas, where they resided until his death in January 1951. Mother died in a nursing home at Abilene, Kansas, November, 1958. They are buried in Highland Cemetery, Wakefield, Kansas.
During their life they were active in the Uniondale Baptist Church and late the Methodist Church at Wakefield.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
