  1. 1851 Broadpool, Warboys, Huntingdonshire. (see Note 1) Charles was a visitor at the house of John VOSS age 33 born Huntingdon and Henny VOSS his wife age 33 born Warboys, Huntingdonshire. Thee was a lodger a Samuel HOBBS aged 23 an Ag Lab born Warboys, Huntingdonshire.

1891 Mill Street, Stayleybridge, Mosseley, Lancashire/Cheshire.

1881 Albert Cottages, Stayley, Mosseley, Lancashire
  4. 1871 Little End, Warboys, Huntingdonshire
1881 Albert Cottages, Stayley, Mosseley, Lancashire
1891 Mill Street, Stayleybridge, Mosseley, Lancashire/Cheshire. I have found a Charles SETCHELL born 1872 at this address. I think it is the correct Charles but it has given me some problems which at present I cannot solve. He is down as son-in-law, but his wife is down as Mary ( not Martha). Then the problems really start. The Head of Household is a Martha BAXTER, born Wistow, Huntingdonshire, a widow aged 46. This is what makes me think I have the correct Charles as his mother was a Martha BAXTER before she married. So not the same Martha but I feel she must be connected. The four children that follow Martha on the Census are all born in Mosseley Lancashire, Eliza A BAXTER 16 a Little Frame Tenter, John S BAXTER 13 a Cotton piecer. Frances M 9 Scholar and Lewis 6 Scholar. Then at the top of the next page is Charles and then Mary down as 22 which conforms with the details of her age above as Martha and she was born in Warboys, Huntingdonshire, a Cotton Frame Tenter on this Census. I have looked at the further and found a Charles BAXTER with a Martha as his wife and a Martha as a child of the correct age on the 1871 Census. There is a marriage on the BMD in December quarter of 1865 in St Ives district of a Charles BAXTER to a Martha BEHAGG which I think is the correct marriage. On BAXTER Chart 0600 (Charles BAXTER and Harriet LANE) there is a gap in 1844 where a child could be. The Charles who married Martha BEHAGG was born in 1844. As this would have been Charles BAXTER's and Harriet LANE's first child it would be likely to be called Charles after his father. On the 1851 Census there is a Charles BAXTER born 1845 (which is near enough) as a visitor to a family of John and Henny VOSS, which could be the right person. There is also a lodger a Samuel HOBBS with him, he was a lot older ,born in 1828, but on the 1891 Census which this Note relates there is in Mill Street, Staylebridge a Martha HOBBS born Wistow, Huntingdonshire, she is a widow, but again another coincidence relating to this family. Putting all this together I have put charts on back from Martha above to BAXTER Chart 0600, with notes to say that it could be incorrect.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
