  1. 1841 Census - Hambledon Village, Surrey
1851 Census - Village, Hambledon,  Surrey. James is head of Household as a Widower, with his children Emily and Arthur, but Maria NASH is with him as a Housekeeper but she is down as sister-in-law and her children are down as nephews and nieces.
1861 Census - Bufs Common, Hambledon, Surrey. This shows that James married again to a Maria Nash, Arthur is with James and his wife but also the following which will need some sorting out - Sarah NASH aged 21, she is down as being 21 and unmarried and as daughter-in-law born Whitley, Surrey, so assume she is a daughter of Maria and her first husband ??? NASH, but then she appears to have a son a Henry Charles NASH aged 1 born Hambledon down as son of daughter-in-law, but as she has the name NASH and is unmarried I assume he was her illegitimate child. Then there  are two Grandchildren, Elizabeth BOXALL aged 4 born Godalming, Surrey, but I have no son other than Arthur on the above chart so possibly a child of either Jane or Emily and then a Maria NASH aged 4 born Godalming, Surrey, so assume a child of another of Maria ??? and her husband ??? NASH.
On Andy Brown's Family Tree on Ancestry.com the parents of William are shown as William born about 1783 Hascombe, Surrey died 13th September 1847 Hambledon, Surrey and Jane AYLING born about 1789 Godalming, Surrey and died about 1830 Hambledon, Surrey. Other than William it shows seven other children
1871 Census - Alms House, Hambledon, Surrey
1881 Census -  By the common, Hambledon, Surrey. With his daughter Emily HUTCHINS and family.
  2. 1841 Census - Hambledon Village, Surrey
  3. 1851 Census - Village, Hambledon, Surrey. James is head of Household as a Widower, with his children Emily and Arthur, but Maria NASH is with him as a Housekeeper but she is down as sister-in-law and her children are down as nephews and nieces.
1861 Census - Bufs Common, Hambledon, Surrey
Have found the NASH family on the IGI and as a lot of the names on the 1851 coincide I am certain it is the correct family. I have therefore altered the above chart to show them all. This means that James who was the last person listed on the 1851 was indeed born in 1825 and was 26 as I thought was possible.
1871 Census - Alms House, Hambledon, Surrey
  4. IGI - Christian name taken from baptisms of children
  5. 1841 Census - Hambledon Village, Surrey
  6. 1841 Census - Hambledon Village, Surrey
  7. 1841 Census - Hambledon Village, Surrey
1871 Census - Wergs Cottage, Woking Station, Woking, Surrey. Richard FRYER is down as being 30 years older than his wife. Their daughter was with them, an Elizabeth FRYER aged 7 born Woking, Surrey. There were two visitors and a servant with the family.
  8.
  9. 1851 Census - Village, Hambledon, Surrey.
1871 Census - 2 Top Hill Farm, Hambledon, Surrey
1881 Census - By the common, Hambledon, Surrey.
  10. 1851 Census - Village, Hambledon, Surrey.
1861 Census - Bufs Common, Hambledon, Surrey
  11.
  12. IGI baptism
  13. 1851 Census - Village, Hambledon, Surrey. I do not know how old James is, he is the last person listed on the 1851 Census, he is down as son, then crossed through and nephew inserted, I thought it said 6 months but he is down as an Ag Lab, it definitely looks like a 6 and has something in front of it, George is down as being 15 and Maria 16 so that would cover the ages if he was 16 so it is possible that he is 26 and born around 1825, as his mother is down as being 55 on this census and 62 on the next it is more than possible that he could have been born in 1825.
IGI baptism - which explains details in 1851 census information above.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
