  1. 1841 Census - Thackley End, Idle, Yorkshire
    1851 Census - Thackley, Idle, Yorkshire.  Samuel was a widower on this Census.
    Everything points to the fact that Samuel and his wife Lucy were extremely young when they married, possibly only 11 years old. The 1851 Shows Samuel a widower being 40 years old which agrees with the baptism on the IGI. However a daughter is shown, Mary A BRAYSHAW as being 28 years old. On the 1841 Census definitely the same family Samuel is again shown as being 40 but ages were rounded up and down and perhaps he did not want to show he was as young as he was. His wife Lucy is with him and she is shown as being 35. The IGI shows a marriage of a Samuel BRAYSHAW on 19th August 1822 in Calverley which would be correct to a Lucy BROWN, which as I said at the beginning points to them only being 11 when they married.

    1871 Thackley End, Idle, Yorkshire. With the family was an Emma BRAYSHAW down as a Boarder unmarried aged 29 a Cloth Spinner born Idle, Yorkshire.

    1861 Census - Heaton Syke, Heaton, Yorkshire. A lodger with the family
    1871 Census - Fountain Inn, New Collage, Heaton, Yorkshire. There was a Watson MARVEL father aged 80 a Retired Contractor with the family. Also two boarders and a visitor.
    Information for William MARVEL
    1881 29 and 30 Heaton Syke, Heaton, Yorkshire. It appears that William had married again to a Sarah ANN aged 34 (23 years younger than William) she was born in Bradford, Yorkshire and they had a child Hannah Martha aged 9 months born Heaton, Yorkshire.

    1861 Thackley End, Idle, Yorkshire. Children Louisa aged 2 a Scholar and Samuel aged 1. With the family was an Edmund KENDALL a Nephew aged 16 a Mule Piecer at Woollen Mil born Idle, Yorkshire.

    1871 Thackley End, Idle, Yorkshire. With her sister Mary Ann LEE née BRAYSHAW and family down as a Boarder unmarried aged 29 a Cloth Spinner born Idle, Yorkshire.
    1881 65 Thackley End, Idle, Yorkshire. Emma was the head, with her was her nephew and niece Samuel and Emma LEE.
