  1. Information from Andy Brown who is a grandson of Kathleen TICKNER and Walter BROWN - This is quite a complicated chart and Andy sent me the following information about it: Kathleen Rachel Tickner married Walter Charles Brown (b. 6/9/1908 in Godalming , Surrey, died 1989). The father of Walter Charles Brown was Charles Brown (b. approx. 1859 in Godalming or Normandy or Wanborough, Surrey (according to various census info)). Charles Brown(1859)'s third marriage was to Charlotte Mary Kerrison née Boxall (b. abt 1872 Chiddingfold, Surrey), who was the daughter of George Strudwick Boxall (b. abt 1848 in Hambledon, Surrey - n.b. his names not "Shudwick" as some census records show). Charles Brown and Charlotte Kerrison/Boxall had the following children:  Arthur Kerrison Brown (abt 1906) Walter Charles Brown (as mentioned previously) Eva K Brown (abt1913)
Charles Brown's second marriage was to Annie ?, which shows on the 1901 census with living with children Alfred (1887 ), Percy (1883 ) , Grace (1885) and Edith ( 1900). Note that only Edith was the daughter of Annie - the others were from Charles' first marriage (Matilda I believe, judging from the 1891 census).  Annie and Charles Brown had one other child - David Brown (abt 1902).
Charles Brown's father was William Brown ( abt 1837) who shows on the 1871 census with wife Lucy(1837) , and children James(1868), Louisa (1864), Charles, Alfred (1870) and William(1866) and Arthur (1873)
  2. 1901 Census - Primrose Place, Witley, Surrey
  3. 1891 Census - Primrose Place, Witley, Surrey
  4. 1881 Census - Rock Place, Godalming, Surrey
  5. 1881 Census - Primrose Place, Witley, Surrey. Matilda is down as a Lodger aged 33 born Farnham, Surrey. Because of the address I am certain this is the correct Matilda although she is five years older than she appears on the 1891 Census. There is a marriage as shown on the BMD which shows that she married Charles BROWN after having Edward. On this Census, Edward BAXTER is under her but not down as son, but she is down as unmarried, he is down correctly as being 3 and born in Witley. They are lodging with a William FARR and family.
  6. 1871 Census - Ockford Road, Godalming, Surrey
  7. 1881 Census - Great House Cottage, Hambledon, Surrey. Father - George aged 33 born Hambledon, Surrey, a Farm Labourer, Mother - Ann aged 33 born Hambledon, Surrey. Four other siblings other as well as Charlotte. There was also a Henry LAWRENCE, aged 12 a Lodger aged 12, a Farm Labourer.
  8. 1891 Census - Nightingale Road, Godalming, Surrey. Charlotte was a Servant to a Barrington F HEYSHAM, a Retired Major General aged 60 born Farringdon, Hampshire and his wife.
  9. 1901 Census - 2 Waltham Cottage, Luidace? Road, Teddington, Middlesex
  10. On the BMD there are two other KERRISON's born between 1896 and when William James died in 1903 who could be part of the family - William James KERRISON born March quarter of 1898 (I would think definitely a son as he has the same names as his father and I have added above) and Winifred Zelia KERRISON born September quarter of 1901, As the spacing is correct I would again think she was part of this family and I have added her to the Chart above.
  11. 1881 Census - No 2 Ayres Cottages, Fairfield N, Norbiton, Kingston, Surrey. Father Benjamin N? KERRISON, Aged 40?, Police Pensioner, born Shipton, Middlesex, mother Eliza, aged 42 born Thames Ditton, Surrey. Four other siblings all born Kingston, Surrey and a nephew, a William A DRAKE, aged 12 also born Kingston, Surrey
  12. 1871 Census - Primrose Place, Milford, Surrey. Matilda was with her (I think brother-in-law) as his name was William FAN? (I think this should be FARR) - see Note 5 and 13)  aged 27 a Sawyer born Witley, Surrey, but his wife was Mary aged 25 born Farnham, Surrey which is where Matilda is down as married, Matilda is down as sister. There was also a George BAXTER aged 12, a Scholar born Godalming, Surrey, and William and Mary FAN had a daughter Ellen FAN aged 6 a Scholar born Godalming, Surrey
  13. 1901 Census - Primrose Place, Witley, Milford, Surrey. Edward BAXTER 23 Nephew, down as being born in Milford, Surrey  is with William FARR 57 a General Labourer, born in Milford, Surrey  his wife Mary, 56 a Laundress born Farnham, Surrey and Ellen MULLARD, daughter, a widow, aged 34 a Laundress, born Godalming, Surrey. They are in the same property as Charles Brown and his wife Annie and family (see Note 2)
  14. IGI Baptism
  15. 1871 Census - Black Beam Cottage, Chiddingfold, Surrey. Parents of Charlotte, as she was not born, but Mercy the eldest daughter was with them, she was aged1 and born in Chiddingfold, Surrey. George was 23 and an Ag Lab, and Ann was also 23 both born in Chiddingfold, Surrey. (IGI baptism for Mercy was on 20th February 1870.
  16. IGI Baptism. This shows that Charlotte was born in 1871 not 1872 as I originally had it, as she was baptised in October of that year.
  17. IGI Marriage - For parents of Charlotte. George Strudwick BOXALL and Ann PORTER, married 18th July 1868, Chiddingfold, Surrey. His father is shown as William.
  18. BMD - 1906 on the marriage of Charlotte KERRISON née BOXALL to Charles BROWN she is shown at as Lottie Mary KERRISON.
  19. Andy Brown wrote: I have given you wrong information about David Brown - his name was Eric (don't know how I made that mistake). There is an Eric Charles Brown on the FreeBMD for 1904, which could be him.
  20. 1871 Census - Fairfield, Kingston, Surrey
  21. 1891 Census - 2 Ayres Cottages Fairfield Road, Kingston, Surrey

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
