  1. 1851 Census - Monk? Grove, Wanborough, Surrey.
  2. 1841 Census - Monks Grove, Wanborough, Surrey.
  3. 1891 Census - Stene? Villa, Thorney Road, Crowland, Lincolnshire. Children Herbert W 11 Scholar, born Alford, Lincolnshire, Jessey BROWN 11, Scholar, born Alford, Lincolnshire, James A 10 Scholar born Coombes Thorney, Lincolnshire, Annie 5 born Coombes Thorney, Lincolnshire, George 3 born North Eye, Lincolnshire.
  4. 1881 Census - Jessops House, Orby, Lincolnshire. Wife down as being born in Maltby, Lincolnshire on this Census. Children: Robert 13 Scholar, born Bilsby, Lincolnshire, Francis 11 Scholar, born East Ville, Lincolnshire, Rosanna 6 Scholar, born East Ville, Lincolnshire, William 1 born East Cumberwood? Lincolnshire and Jessey aged 2 weeks born Orby, Lincolnshire. (I do think this is the correct family although birth places do not tie up exactly with 1891 Census)
  5. 1871 Census - East Ville, Lincolnshire. - Although discrepancies on following Censuses I think this one proves that the following ones are correct. James is down as being born in Wanborough on this Census, it also appears that he was married twice and his first wife was Sarah, and she was born in Bilsby which is where the eldest son on the 1881 Census was born and then they are living in East Ville which is where the next children on the 1881 Census were born. The children on this Census were Frederick BROWN, aged 8 born Paddington, London, George BROWN aged 5 born Paddington, London, Robert BROWN aged 3 born Bilsby, Lincolnshire and Thomas BROWN aged 1 born East Ville, Lincolnshire.
  6. 1901 Census - Postland, Crowland, Northamptonshire. Correct family as children and ages tie up but James is down as being born In Richmond, Surrey, which he was not. Jane is down as Alford which is OK James and Annie are down as Thorney but in Cambridgeshire, and George is correct. However as every Census shows different names and birth places for some of the children and in some cases the parents I think this is the correct family.
  7. I think that James BROWN married a Jane BORMAN in June quarter of 1880 in the Spilsby district of Lincolnshire. On the 1871 Census there is a Jane BORMAN born 1856 in Cumberworth, Lincolnshire. (this is one of the places she is down as being born and on the 1901 it is shown as Alford, Cumberworth, Lincolnshire. I therefore think this is the correct person, she is down as a Servant on the 1871 Census with a Rhoda Stephenson as the Head,  they are at "the road to the (Sun?), Anderby, Lincolnshire
  8. There are two Jane BORMAN's on the 1861 which could be the correct person, neither is down as being born in Cumberworth, so I think it depends on how near the two birth towns are to Cumberworth to which one is the correct child, one was born in Tetney, Lincolnshire with a William and Sarah as parents the other was born in Benniworth, Lincolnshire with a John and Ann as parents.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
