    LaMar Verl Carter, 76, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2002 in Salt Lake City.
    Born October 3, 1925 in Provo, UTah, the son of Heber C. Carter and Lottie Thompson Carter. He married Donna Jean Brady, December 3, 1947. They were sealed in the Salt lake Temple and later divorced. Married Mildred "Mid" Hanson Pastore March 5, 1983 in Salt Lake City. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.
    LaMar attended Provo High School and Provo Technical College for blacksmithing. he served in the US Army during World War II in the Philippines. He retired in 1987 from the Union Pacific Railroad after 37 years of service.
    LaMar was an active member of the LDS Church and held many positions. At the time of his death he was a member of the High Council. He loved all sports and was an avid golfer. His favorite golf course was Wasatch State Park, where he made a hole in one on #7.
    He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Garnett. Survived by his wife, Mid, sister Ruth, brothers, Paul, and George Dewain; and children . . .. . .
    Funeral services will be held Friday, August 9, 2002 at 11 am at the Fairmont Ward. Interment: Larkin Sunset Gardens

    Heber Paul Carter, 77, passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2006 at home in Springville with his family by his side. He was born on December 7, 1928 in Provo, Utah to Heber Charles and Lottie Thompson Carter. He attended Provo schools in his youth and later attended Utah Trade Tech. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He married Jeaneene Miller and she later passed away in 1972. He later married Betty Provstgaard who also preceded him in death. On December 3, 1994, he married Andrea D. Hall in Salem, Utah. They were sealed in the Provo LDS Temple in 1995.
    Heber worked at Geneva Steel for thirty years and also worked with the Payson City Ambulance and Reserve Police Force. He was an avid pheasant hunter and fisherman and won many awards for his flowers at Payson Onion Days. A member of the LDS church, he served in various callings throughout his life. He enjoyed the six years he spent as an ordinance worker in the Provo temple.
    He is survived by his wife, Andrea, of Springville; one son and two daughters, Gordon Dee (Teri) Carter, Hurricane; Steffanie (Kevin) Becker, West Richland, WA; and Amy Kreth, Pleasant Grove; 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, George Dwane (Mary) Carter, Provo; and a sister, Ruth Ferre, Orem. Heber was preceded in death by his previous wives, a son, Gary Paul Carter; infant children, Lori and Lynn Carter; a sister, Garnet; a brother, LaMar; and a great-grandchild, Traden.
    Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kolob 6th Ward Chapel 1230 South 500 East, Springville, Utah. Family and friends may call Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Walker Mortuary, 187 South Main, Spanish Fork, Utah and Thursday morning from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Payson City Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the American Legion.
