    1881 Broad Street, Lyme, Dorset. John CLARKE was a Servant an Apprentice to Butcher. He was with Henry T WHEATON aged 44 a Butcher born Whitechurch, Dorset and his wife Jane E WHEATON aged 50 born Lyme, Dorset and their daughter Ellen M WHEATON aged 20 born Lyme, Dorset. There was another servant a Henry POLLARD aged 21 Assistant Butcher born Gloucester.

    We had Harriet CLARKE marrying a William MARTIN or a Tom Ellis UPJOHN in 1889 but I do not think this is correct as I think I have found her on the 1891 and 1901 Census as Harriet CLARKE.

Harriet was a Housemaid - Domestic Servant with Hans F HAMILTON 61 the Rector of Woodmansterne who was born in Ireland, his wife was Mary G HAMILTON aged 58 born Westminster, London, they had several children Gerladine F aged 32 born Sidmouth, Devon, Gaurayne B (a son) aged 29 a Barrister, born Combe St Nicholas, Somerset, Evelyn M aged 27 born Combe St Nicholas, Somerset, Alice E M aged 24 born Combe St Nicholas, Somerset. With the family was an Elizabeth D PUCKLE, Visitor aged 35 born Chipstead, Surrey, John FORWARD Visitor a Solicitor born Chard, Somerset, Mary A STONE 36 a Parlour Maid - Domestic Servant born Chard, Somerset, a Elizabeth A BATTERSHILL a Cook, Domestic Servant born All Saints, Stoke??, Devon and Anne M CLARKE a Kitchen Maid - Domestic Servant born Holcombe Somerset (was Ann a sister of Harriet).
    1901 68 Strode Road, Willesden, Middlesex. Harriet was a visitor a Cook Domestic with a William J HUMPHREYS who was Head born Pinner, Middlesex and his wife Elizabeth aged 25 born Croydon, Surrey, and their children Percy W aged 6 born Pinner, Middlesex, Florence M aged 4 born Pinner, Middlesex and Evelyn J aged 2 born Marylebone, Middlesex. Also with the family was Rose SCRAGGS a visitor aged 28 a Cook Domestic born Upper Horford, Oxfordshire and a Rose M CLARKE aged 1 week born Willesden, Middlesex (was Rose the daughter of Harriet)

    There was a birth of a Walter Snell CLARKE in December quarter 1885 in Torrington District, Devon. He died in 1972 in Chichester district, Sussex, but I can find nothing else about him, Could he be a son of the family above.
