London, Alfred COPELAND aged 12 born Battersea, London. 1939 16 Archer House, Battersea, London, Alfred COPELAND born 13th September 1898 Bread Baker, Lilian M COPELAND born 31st July 1898 Unpaid Domestic Duties, James H COPELAND born 7th May 1924 General Labourer 1939 16 Archer House, Battersea, London, Alfred COPELAND born 13th September 1898 Bread Baker, Lilian M COPELAND born 31st July 1898 Unpaid Domestic Duties, James H COPELAND born 7th May 1924 General Labourer Informaiton for Lilian Maud MARLOW Note One child for this couple Lilian B COPELAND born June quarter 1928 Wandsworth district, London BUT on the 1939 Census there is a James A COPELAND born 7th May 1924 living with this couple, BUT the mothers maiden name is down as ACKERMAN. and then I found another child with mother as Ackeman, Joyce L COPELAND born June quarter 1930 Battersea, London BUT then found marriage of Alfred COPELAND in September quarter 1922 Wandsworth district, London to Lilian M MARLOW or ACKERMAN so it appears that Lilian had been married before to a MARLOW or an ACKERMAN. However she was registered as Louisa MARLOW and born on 31st June 1898 baptised 22nd August 1898 to mother Louisa as an Illegitmate child. Family tree shows husbands of mother Louisa as Abraham ACKERMAN and Thomas Arthur Horsehair PRITCHARD, they have Lilian down as child of Thomas Arthur Horsehair PRITCHARD and no children under Abraham ACKERMAN, They have him down as being born 1845 and death in 1903, BUT Louisa's marriage to him on 24th April 1904 in Croydon, The tree shows no records to check details. The marriage to Thomas Arthur Horsehair PRITCHARD is shown as Common Law. So it appears that Lilian only married once but was not sure of her maiden name and that all three children that we have found were hers. Having now found registration of Jame A COPELAND, all three children were born with mothers maiden name down as ACKERMAN, Spelt as ACKORMAN for James A COPELAND 1939 16 Archer House, Battersea, London, Alfred COPELAND born 13th September 1898 Bread Baker, Lilian M COPELAND born 31st July 1898 Unpaid Domestic Duties, James H COPELAND born 7th May 1924 General Labourer
