  1. Original information from an Andy Brown
  2. 1871 Census - Rock Place, Godalming, Surrey
  3. 1861 Census - Glazes Lane, Ash, Farnborough, Surrey
  4. 1851 Census - Royal Common, Peper Harow, Surrey. Father of Lucy, William COVER, aged 53 an Ag Lab, born Shilroleg?, Surrey, mother, Elizabeth, aged 50 born Peper Harow, Surrey. There were two sisters and a brother of Lucy's on the Census and two Grandson's, will sort out when I put Chart on for family.
The Grandsons are Micheld? COVER aged 4 born Thursley, Surrey and William M COVER aged 10 months born Peper Harow, Surrey.
  5. 1841 Census - Peper Harow, Surrey (next property says Royal Common). Lucy is 4 and she has a younger sister, Elizabeth who is three months, and there are three older siblings. William COVER is the father is a Labourer.
  6. IGI Baptism. Baptism of Lucy and other siblings of Lucy
Eliza COVER baptised 9th September 1832 Peper Harow, Surrey
Charles COVER baptised 31st August 1834 Peper Harow, Surrey
Lucy COVER baptised 8th January 1837 Peper Harow, Surrey
Ellen COVER baptised 30th June 1839 Peper Harow, Surrey
Elizabeth COVER baptised 23rd May 1841 Peper Harow, Surrey
James COVER baptised 21st January 1844 Peper Harow, Surrey
  7. 1871 Census - Pond Cottage, Peper Harow, Surrey. Elizabeth was with her parents, down as married with BORAL as surname she had two children with her, Emily 10  a Scholar, born Peper Harow, Surrey and Alfred, 4 born Portsmouth, Hampshire. They are down as Granddaughter and Grandson.
  8. IGI - Marriage
  9. IGI - With the fact that William and Elizabeth married in 1821 and the first child I have found was baptised in Peper Harow in 1832 I felt that there should be children between 1822 and 1831 and I have found some on the IGI baptised in Thursley, Surrey with a William and Elizabeth as parents. Thursley is in the same area as Peper Harow, so I think they are the correct family and I have added them to the Chart above.
  10. IGI - Baptism, having found on the 1871 Census that William is down as being born in Thursley, Surrey around 1798 I have found his baptism on the IGI from that I have found his parents as William and Ann. I think this helps to confirm that the first four children were born in Thursley. There are around eight children for William and Ann, although two of them are John's, so it is possible that there were two families with a William and Ann as parents, but I would think it was more than likely that the first John died, I will put a Chart on for this family. The marriage appears to be on 3rd August 1796 and Ann's maiden name appears to be NEWMAN.
  11. IGI Baptism and actual birth details. Parents are down as Charles and Elizabeth LEVITT. There are two other children that shown up on the IGI search of the batch number. Will put a Chart on for this family.
  12. 1861 Census - Royal Common, Peper Harow, Surrey. Elizabeth is down on this Census as unmarried and as a House Servant but there are two grandchildren with William and Elizabeth as well as their daughter Elizabeth, Hyland COVER aged 13 born Thursely, Surrey and infant COVER, aged under 1 month born Peper Harow, Surrey. I would think that infant Cover is Emily shown as 10 on the 1871 Census and on the BMD there is a birth for a Emily COVER in March quarter of 1861 in Hambledon district, Surrey.
  13. 1871 Census - Pond Cottage, Peper Harow, Surrey. As well as Emily aged 10 as a daughter, born Peper Harow, there is an Alfred, grandson, aged 4 a Scholar, born Portsmouth, Hampshire. Elizabeth, Emily and Alfred all appear to have the name "BORAL", but Elizabeth is down as the daughter of William and Elizabeth and is not down as wife but as daughter. Having been given the clue of Portsmouth for Alfred, I think that the name BORAL should be BOXALL, as that runs in the family and that Elizabeth COVER married a Richard BOXALL in the September quarter of 1866 in the Portsea district of Hampshire. I would think that Richard was a seaman, hence the reason we keep finding Elizabeth with her parents in Peper Harow.
  14. 1881 Census - Victoria Cottage, Highland Road, Portsea, Portsmouth, Hampshire (success at last and the name is BOXALL, Richard is down as being born in Wickley, Surrey, but I think this should be Witley. Elizabeth and Emily are down as being born in Upper Harow, but again I think this should be Peper Harow. Alfred is down as being born in Southsea, but near enough for Portsmouth in the 1871 so I am 100 per cent certain this is the correct family. They had also had a son Harry 8 down as being born in Elsted, Surrey, and another son William aged 2 down as being born in Southsea, Hampshire. Emily is down as a General Servant, Alfred as an Errand Boy.
  15. 1871 Census - Royal Navy Vessels, Barrosa, Singapore Straits Settlement (so we have found him in the Navy, (birth place as Willey, Surrey on the one)
  16. 1891 Census - County Hall, Castle Hill, Winchester, Surrey. Elizabeth, 50 born Peper Harow, Harry 18 born Elsted, Surrey, Solicitors Clerk, and William 12 born Southsea, Hampshire, proves we have the right family as per 1881 Census, but Richard this time puts himself as being born in Isleworth, Surrey. Out of the Navy he is a County Hall Keeper in Winchester.
  17. 1851 Census - Witley, Surrey. but this time Richard is down as being born in Epsom, Surrey. Father is a William BOXALL aged 30 a Shoemaker born Dunsfold, Surrey and his wife is a Hannah aged 31 born Peper Harow, Surrey, so I do think this is the correct family. There were four other children and they are all down as being born in Witley, Surrey, so I would think that was where Richard thought he was born. (still to find on 1861 Census, but he was married by then to Elizabeth, and not at home, so might not appear on that census as he was in Singapore in 1871.
  18. 1841 Census - Witley, Surrey. William and Hannah and just Richard, so assume he was the eldest child.
  19. 1901 Census -  Castle Hill, St Thomas, Winchester, Hampshire. They had a servant, a Kate SMEETH, aged 17 and a visitor, I assume her sister, Alice SMEETH with them.
  20. 1861 Census - District Royal Marines Artillery Barracks Foston, Alverstoke, Hampshire, Have now found Richard on the 1861 Census, he is just down as R A  but age birth place and occupation all correct so I think it is the correct person.
  21. 1851 Census - Bramley Surrey, Charles is down as a Servant (Ag Lab) he is the right age but down as being born in Godalming, Surrey
  22. 1861 Census - Village, Elsted, Surrey. Children: William 10 Scholar born Elstead, Surrey, Eliza 8 Scholar, born Elstead, Surrey, George 3 born Elstead, Surrey and Henry 8 months born Elstead, Surrey.
  23. 1881 Census - Royal Common, Peper Harow, Surrey. Children - Henry 20 an Ag Lab born Elstead, Surrey and Emma 18 Labourer's daughter, born Elstead, Surrey.
  24. 1871 Census  - Red House, Elstead, Surrey. Ann was not with her family, but she was in 1881 and William is down as married. Children William 20 an Ag Labourer, born Peper Harow, Surrey, George 14 an Ag Lab, born Elstead, Surrey, Henry 11 a Scholar, born Elstead, Surrey and Emma 7 a Scholar, born Elstead, Surrey.
  25. 1861 Census - 32 Ivy Street, Portsea, Hampshire. Children: Mary E LOCKYER, 7 a Scholar, born Elstead, Surrey, John T aged 3 weeks, born Portsmouth, Hampshire.
  26. 1891 Census - Royal Common, Peper Harow, Surrey.
  27. 1901 Census - Royal Common, Peper Harow, Surrey.
  28. 1871 Census - Lady Cross R8? (Rd), Milford, Surrey
  29. 1881 Census - Witley, Surrey

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
