  3. 1860 Lyme Regis, Dorset (baptism of Thomas James)
1861 Lyme Regis, Dorset There was a Charlotte GOAMES? aged 18 a Servant born Lyme, Dorset, with Emma and Thomas
Thomas was shown as age 10 (I think this should have been 10 months and the Scholar was wrong) on the 1861 census making him born 1851, 8 years before Thomas and Edith married. He is definitely shown as 10 Scholar on the actual census. Edith would have only been 16/17 if this information is correct
There was no Thomas birth in the right area in 1851, from 1849 to the 1861 census the only Thomas CROSS birth in Axminster was for a Thomas Wililam James CROSS in the March quarter of 1861. There was a John Thomas CROSS born March quarter 1852
No further information can be found for a Thomas born in the Lyme Regis area in about 1851 or 1861.

I believe that Edward married Sarah CORN as shown, on the 1911 there is an Edward CROSS born 1874 in Lyme Regis, Dorset. We have Edward as born in Islington, as that is where it is said he was born in 1881 and where he was registered, but his elder siblings were born in Lyme Regis, so it is possibly that he was born there and then moved to London immediately and it is possible that when he married in 1901 he found that he had actually been born in Lyme Regis. There is no other reference on any Census etc of an Edward CROSS born in Lyme Regis around that time. I have gone ahead a put a Chart on with the detail of the family from the 1911 Census.
1911 143a Wickersley Road, Wandsworth, Battersea, London. The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
