  1. 1851 High Street, Warboys, Huntingdonshire, John and Thomas were living together on this Census, no other occupants at this address in the High Street, Thomas was the Head of Household, John is down as his brother.
  2. 1851 High Street, Warboys, Huntingdonshire. There is a William Custance  living in the High Street, Warboys who was born about 1804 and was a Carpenter. As his son Thomas and John were also Carpenters and living in the High Street, I think this is the father of them. His wife is not with him on this Census, but he is down as married, not widowed. There are a lot of children with him which I have added to the Chart above. Norman who we had has as yet not appeared on any information that I have found.
  3. 1861 26 Sydney Street, Islington, London. Ann LAYTON is down as wife, but there is no HEAD at home, she is born in Warboys and is the age of the Ann above, there are two children and a John CUSTANCE brother living with her who matches the John above and is a Carpenter as he was in 1851, so I am certain this is all correct. Ann is down as a Carpenters wife. Cannot find marriage on the BMD.
  4. 1861 The Street, Warboys, Huntingdonshire, Sarah was a widow, so we have her second name, Mary her sister was living with her and they had a Lodger, an Edward THOMPSON age 36 a Straw Plait Traveller, born Spalding, Lincolnshire
  5. 1861 Long Lane, Lolworth, Cambridgeshire, Jane was a Servant Housemaid
  6. 1861 West End, St Ives, Huntingdonshire, Emma was a House Servant to a Cornelius Robinson, a Tailor, Draper and Insurance Agent.
  7. 1861 Street, Warboys, Huntingdonshire. I have added William to this family, although I have not had him before, partly because he has a sister with him Elizabeth which matches the Elizabeth I had on the 1851 Census, secondly the CUSTANCE family in Warboys appears to be all the same family as I have now all but completed adding them all in together and William has his fathers name and is living in The Street, Warboys. There is also a convenient gap in 1827 where another child would have been expected to be born.
  8. 1841 Mill Green Warboys, Huntingdonshire

1881 High Street, Warboys, Huntingdonshire. There was a Lizzie CUSTANCE, aged 13 a Scholar, down as a niece born Islington, Middlesex with the family. William CUSTANCE's brother Thomas and family were next door which we had already picked up. There is also an Elizabeth ALLPRESS and a SETCHELL family on the same Census page, family names which we are also interested in.

The idea of these charts is to give the information that we have found in the research we have done and put together and with the help of many other people who have contacted us over the past thirty odd years we have been researching our family. The idea is that you click on the Chart box in blue to be taken to the next family. There is now a large number of charts to be found and connections can be made to all the main families I am researching. If a chart has a box with the standard background it means that as yet I have not put the Chart on the Web.
To conform to the Data Protection Act all the Charts have been altered to exclude all details for living people other than the name.
