    There is also a marriage as follows 25th December 1837. Hinton Martel Dorset witnesses Thomas HABGOOD. Joseph DEW to a Charlotte HABGOOD, so this could be the correct marriage not the one I have shown above, but the one I have shown shows Caleb as father of James whereas this one shows no father. However the first child on the charts I have been sent was born in 1837, so it does leave some doubt in my mind to which of these marriages is correct. The charts just show the wife as a Charlotte.. As can be seen I have now found family on 1861 and as Charlotte was born in St Giles, Wimborne I think the marriage I have shown above is the correct one of the two

    At present I cannot find this family on a Census but there is a baptism of a Sarah Jane HENSBRIDGE in Wimborne Minster, Dorset on the England and Wales Christening Records on 2nd June 1867 with Charles HENSBRIDGE as father and Mary Ann as Mother which must be a child of this couple. The charts sent to me show a Eliza Jane born before their marriage and baptised on 3rd February 1856  she was baptised a DACOMBE with just a mother Mary.

    1901 20 Bunlece Road, Portsmouth, Hampshire. Children Joseph WEEKS Step Son aged 23 a Skilled Labourer, Jennie DACOMBE aged 16, William DACOMBE aged 11, Rodda aged 5, Frances aged 3, Eva aged 1 and Caleb aged 4 days all born Portsmouth, Hampshire. (see continuing note)
    There is a Caleb DACOMBE who might be this person, he was in the Royal Navy on the 1901 Census and was married to a Sarah, and had children, she had been married before and I have found two marriages for Caleb in Portsmouth area the second definitely this Sarah as the child from first marriage down as Step daughter is a WEEKS, This Caleb died in 1903. All looks good EXCEPT birth date in all instances is down as 1849 not 1845 although he is down as being born in Holt, Dorset. I do think this is the right Caleb, and I will put on the chart with what I have found. He must belong to our DACOMBE family, so if incorrect it will be easy to move to an another position. (Have now found his brother William in the Royal Navy in the same area, so certain I have found the correct Caleb)

    Details are as shown on Charts I was sent, it shows a son Tom baptised 4th March 1860 but Tom would have only been 13/14 years old when he had him, it also shows as on chart above a marriage to a Sarah but again if he was buried in 1862 he would have only been 15 at the time. There is indeed a baptism on the date shown in Wimborne Minster with Tom as father and Sarah as mother but is this this Tom as the father is down as being born in 1833 so not definitely not this Tom. The burial shows him correctly as 15, so I have not put on the chart as per the information sent me.

    I cannot find anything for Fred after this Census return, he does appear as a witness in 1879 for his sibling Jane, and this is the last time I can find anything for him, he is the only child on the chart above that I have not been able to find marriage or death information. There is a Fredk. DACOMBE aged 22 born Wimborne Dorset in Winchester Barracks Winchester, Hampshire, Private Rifle Brigade who could be this Fred but age not quite right.
